The end of 2019, the start of 2020. We were up for a play off place with a strong attack where we could possibly score more than the opposition. (Is'nt that what it's all about?)
We didn't push on at a crucial time of the season where the top 2 teams in the league started losing each and almost every week. It was an great opportunity, at worst for a play-off place.
We fell apart when we should have been challenging and now with the 'crown jewels' departed we are looking down rather than up.
I don't blame the selling of Bowen and Grosicki. They deserve to be playing at a higher level because they are too good for The Championship, I think though, that emphasis and a bit of pressure should have been put on the rest of the squad 3/4 weeks ago when we were in such a good position to push on this season.
Not so good management imo.

Anyone who seriously thought the play offs was ever a realistic prospect needs to give their head a good shake!

don't want to make excuses, but i will. injuries have not helped. we've had several players get setttled in, find form, and then get injured. de vijs and burke should be the cb pairing, but de vijs has missed the last four - all defeats. elder has played once since boxing day and had an earlier spell out. toral managed 6 league games for us - the last being november 2nd - and we won 4 and drew one of those games. stewart hasn't played since november 24th.

To be fair, de Vijs, Elder and Toral all have a bit of a history of injury. Their replacements have been pretty poor. Is that bad luck or bad planning?

So actually nothing has changed then?

I think we are doing better than I anticipated, I fully expected us to be struggling to avoid relegation, as it stands if we can't win say 5 or 6 of our remaining 16 games, then we deserve to go down, something I don't believe will happen.

As it stands, we need some astute recruitment come the Summer, which must include a couple of leaders. It's all well and good buying good up and coming prospects whose value will increase over time, but they need blending with a couple of more experienced heads other than Lichai who has been poor recently, and who are genuine leaders.

The same as a week ago

Anyone who thought that any sale of Bowen, regardless of price, would help reduce how much they wanted for the club, was, quite frankly, ****ing deluded.

I honestly do not get why anyone was willing to trust them again over the past couple of months. The only way I will ever trust them is when they sell the club, a new owner had arrived and there are official documents everywhere, and even then, I won't be so sure they've finally pissed off.

I like you Quill, you know your onions <ok>

What pissed me off more than them raping and pillaging our squad again....was they were sat there with their lovely warm blankies on their knees, while we shivered our gonads off in the East Stand on Saturday. When I pocket that much money in a week, blanket shopping is top of my list. Fact.

Lichaj has received a lot of criticism for recent performances. That's a tad harsh when he has been filling in at left back.

It may be a tad harsh, but the fact he's faced criticism from a lot more than me suggests he's not performed to his normal standard in recent weeks when in some matches he's played in his normal position

I can't be bothered to look it up, but I'm sure Elder/ Kingsley were both injured over Xmas, which probably means in recent weeks prior to the Brentford game, he hasn't played In his natural position.

No matter how much you think of someone sat in a stand opposite would you offer to share my lovely warm blanket with them?
