Live in the present. The past is gone; the future is unknown -- but the present is real, and your opportunities are now. You must see these opportunities; they must be real for you. The catch is that they can't seem real if your mind is buried in past failures, if you keep reliving old mistakes, old guilts, old tragedies. Fight your way above the many inevitable Traumatizations of your ego, escape damnation by the past, and look to the opportunities of the present. I don't mean some vague moment in the present -- next week or next month, perhaps. I mean today, this minute.

I'm really looking forward to next season, I'm really excited about everything that's happening with our club. Of course, everything isn't perfect right now but everyone on board is trying their utmost to make it so. I'm not overly worried about the players we recruit, as I'm sure that those who come will do so because they really want to play for and represent our fantastic and unique club. The players that don't or won't buy into what we are about will be gone and we shall move forward without them. Next season will see us get our Rangers back, both on and off the pitch. We will have a commited side that will play great football and will achieve success by doing so.

I chose nervous. I am hopeful we do well but my scepticism comes from our transfer policy.

I am not too sure our owners have learnt too much from last season and they continue to chase over the hill 30 something has beens on big money.

    Hopefully my scepticism is misplaced.

We still don't know what the transfer policy is. We only hear rumours and have seen the rejection of a past it ex-England player plus the signing of a decent young RB. So far it SEEMS to be changed. But we will see.

I agree with you we still don't know the transfer policy is. The "decent young RB" is 26 so not exactly a spring chicken but it is an improvement on 30+ has beens. The players we seem to be mostly linked with at the moment (Crouch, Upson, Parker) are all past it. I want young up and coming players who are keen to make a name for themselves and will bust a gut for the shirt. I think we already have the experienced players in the squad. We just need to add some youth.

As Col said, we should all have a better idea when we see our final squad. There will be a few more in and a few more out before 31st August.

Just as long as we don't do a Wolves!

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
    Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

    If life seems jolly rotten
    There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
    Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

    For life is quite absurd
    And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

    Life's a piece of ****
    When you look at it
    Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
    You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
    (Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
    What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

Unsure for me until I start to see points on the table propelling us upwards. That is the only thing that counts.

Goodness, some of you guys are hesitant about giving your opinion in this thread because its "too early."

Too early for what? I'm asking you what you feel NOW, knowing what you know now. I can definitely see the uptight posters here, the over cautious ones who look back when bad things happened and say "I told you we should have been pessimistic before."

    :p

    I chose excited.

I think the future is bright for us as a club, and last season was a blip. Perhaps relegation will actually turn out to be a good thing for us in a few years time. Gives us time to build the club properly with the correct foundations in place. I think alot of comparisons can be drawn to a few years ago when Newcastle dropped out of the PL. They used it as a time to build again, get a winning mentality back and they finished 5th two seasons ago in the PL.

Whilst I want to go back up first time of asking as it is easy to get stuck in the championship, two seasons to get promotion may not be too bad either.

Im just happy we are returning to the real football, with real fans and none of this PL rubbish.

I don't know what to think at this moment in time, so much depends on who stays or goes and who we sign. As long as we shift those with the negative attitudes we should be OK. What we nee is a long unbeaten run like our last promotion season, throw down the gauntlet to the rest of the division.

I hope we have got enough about us to stay up this season. Im expecting us to finish us anywhere between 11th and 17th. We certainly wont be challenging for promotion this season based on what I have seen in the last 7 months both on and off the pitch. Players like Park and Granero will not be able to hack it in the championship based on what I saw generally with them last season and MK Dons in particular

Same! I am completely happy with a trip to Yoevil, etc. I'd rather go there than the etihad, which is a characterless place designed only to take money from punters.
