That was pretty good John My first game was at Boothferry in 2001, we drew 0-0 with York; what an inspiring game to get me drawn into supporting Hull City. I must admit though, in my (admittedlly short) lifetime, I've had it pretty good as a Tigers fan
Thanks for reminding me about Harold Meens. I also remember Wilf Mannion as my Dad was always boasting about him coming from South Bank, my Dad's birth-place.
Close!!! I am actually 74(75 in July). My cheeky son says that I should be thankful, as many people of that age are in Old Folk's Homes!!!
Posted by midlands_tiger: As midlands_tiger is 21, I should tell your son to shut up Joanna, as it's not obvious how old many are on this forum. And threaten him with a slap for his cheek!
Treble 18 on the dartboard for me. (54) For those that can't count (olm). 55 in December and a dummy run with the zimmer frame.
27 for me and perennial lurker. Although the 80's and early 90's period wasn't the brightest in the clubs history i reckon the lack of 30 year old posters is probably down to kiddies taking up all their time more than anything else.
Some of us younger lot have been there since the dark days. I was a city fan from the minute I was born, I couldn't even tell you my first game I was so young. I think my first memory that sticks which I could detail is getting carried onto the pitch by Alan Fettis and trying my hardest to score past him in the pre-match warm up. My dads also told me of some funny memories when I was younger, like York away one year (93/94 season as I was 3 at the time) in the family stand, after necking his entire pint in the pub before the game, I was completely twatted and stood on my seat the whole game swearing at the players and trying to get the good old 'The referees a ****er' chant going. Apparently some of the other parents were less than impressed, whilst others thought I was brilliant! Needless to say I can't remember that one too well.
Well I'm 34 and my first match was Nov '87 vs Bradford City, (when we were 2nd/3rd in the old Div 2). It was all downhill for 15 years following that game though...
Ha yeah my first game was '89 but the life of me I've never been able to remember who it was against (my dad and uncle have both passed away who took me), we lost 1-0 in a very drab affair but i loved it all the same. I'd never seen my uncle so animated before! He unfortunately passed away before the promotion years started but he was one of those football fans who enjoyed the difficult years more i think and i remember always been sent down to chuck a handful of coins into the collections and thinking we were doing our bit. Midlands - Alan Fettis upfront were some very interesting times!
31. First game was Pompey at home, Feb 1987. I supported Pompey in the second half because they were winning. So my Dad says anyway.
I love the internet age. I have 3 million friends all city supporters. Its as well they don't all go to kc at the same time.. Raich Carter must be my favourite footballer of all time, then Eddie Burbanks. Not many people left to remember them.
GOD! I can see I'm not going to be able to avoid this any longer!! I past the big 50 last month, but in my head and between my legs I'm stil 18!! Unfortunately my waistline isn't quite 30" any more!!
Love 'em all......!!!!! UTT! TFFT!
My first game was around 1998 I believe. As I was only born in 93 I'm pretty proud of that. I'm told we played Mansfield and won 2-0. I think my first 'favourite' player was David Brown.
