Don't mention it - I am also 16 By the way, I won the prediction league last season when I was only 15. For those who took part, I'm not attempting to make you all feel **** or anything, but you know... It's just dawned upon me actually that revealing my age may prove to have many advantages. This has been the most interesting thread for a while, thanks Febbos
Hi Joanna. My husband who went to the first post -war match at age 7 says you may also rember the following from that era.. Neil Franklin,Willie Buchan,Martin Reagan,"Spud" Murphy and Alan Greenhagh. Yes it was Harold Meens. Also my husband points out that as I was born in 1942 I will be 69 on Aug 6th. Men!!!
wow, a lot of the ages are in the region I predicted them to be, but elrooj!!! thought you were around my age pal ha!
I thought he was a lot younger as well. Now I think of him as a dirty old pervert, typing with one hand and partaking in a hand-shandy with the other as the school-bus pulls up at the stop opposite his house. All whilst sat at the computer desk in his loft.
Well we have a current top 6 as at this point in time. 1. Charles Stokel 79. 2. Joanna Hatfield 72?( guess from her clues as a little girl) 3. Tigeroo 72. 4. Mrs Blue Mountains Bear 68. 5. Elrooj 68. 6. Sabre Tooth 67. Could be called Geezers/ Geezies.
I will update the whole kablam when I get some time (off to Stockholm tomorrow. Foo Fighters ) Off to bed now! And btw. Many of you could be my grandpa/grandma
Isn't it rude to ask a lady her age? You're only as old as the woman you feel? He's foreign, he's got an accent. I'm going to confuse the old people now then. 27, and I'll be 28 in September. (Febbos when you're updating it all I expect I'll be the youngest of the two that turn 28 in September)
There are actually 3 generations there when you look at the demographics. You got the plastics that jumped on the Raich Carter bandwagon after the war. Then you got the plastic fans that jumped on the bandwagon when Harold Needler splashed out on Waggy, Butler, and Houghton, thats me they were a good few years! Then you have the new generation that came when we moved to the KC and got a few promotions. We all have one thing in common we love our tigers, the thing I love about football is that it is an inter generational thing that our dads passed onto us. I dont care if your first favourite player was Raich Carter or Vigo Jenson or Waggy or Whitehurst or Windass or Fryatt. something drew us together and that is our bond. It is interesting to note that there are not many city fans in their 30's which I put down to the 19 years in the widerness in the late 80's and 90's. It was'nt so hard being a Hull City fan in the late 60's we were doing pretty well and playing Man Utd in the Watney Cup. Anybody that started watching city in the mid to late 90's are true fans they joined when there was'nt much to cheer for and I take my hat off to them.
May I take this opportunity to belatedly offer you my commiserations for your correct prediction of the number of Tigers goals in season 10/11 on the Hull City Mad board but lost the cash prize on the first poster to win rule. The winner ended up with 200 pounds. Hope to see you again in this years competition
