well I hadn't posted as I thought from the title it was only for people who KNOW what money we have, now it's been explained that it's for people who might just have an opinion on the matter, I'll start chipping in
That's not really how it works any more. We've got a budget, and regardless of when the cash is paid we've already overspent for this season and are now eating into what we have available to spend next season. If we offer a player £10k/wk over what we want to this season now, it reduces our overall wage budget for next season by £5k/wk (6 months cost this season recouped over 12 months next season), and we'll have a player earning a bigger chunk of what's left than we'd want.
