No if watford go up then we wont sell, plus best academy in Britain, as the orange advert said 'the future looks bright for watford fc' (I added on the watford fc bit at the end because I think orange forgot to put it in)
A new day, a new line of rumours. West Ham to appoint Paul Lambert - Malky would be 1st choice to replace him. Malky now "2nd favourite" for West Ham job. Without a doubt "the Ammers" will appoint a "high profile" man and will no doubt have a large player budget (highest in this league?) In order to justify their status as "biggest club" in this league! One ground I won't be visiting next season is the Boleyn, I remember the cost being an extortionate ã27 a number of years ago - I presume the tickets will be ã40 + next season.
Elixir - Interesting angle on Lambert going to West Ham. Discussion on 5-Live last night was that the unhapppy 'ammers would be looking for an experienced manager who had taken a club back up to the premiership - I suppose Lamber partly fits that bill. If I was a betting man, I would put my Dubloon on Chris Hughton as the manager they go for, I think they would consider Lamber as just not having enough experience. I will have to visit The Boleyn as I have loads of 'appy 'ammers mates and it is always a good day out!
One of the owners (never know which is which) has stated he wants a 'home grown' british manager next, which ahs narrowed it down and eliminated the likes of Poyet, Di Canio etc... which has pushed Malky to 2nd favourite! I can't see Lambert going, he'll want to give the Premiership a go. He's building his squad wehre West Ham will be dismantling theirs! You'd think they'd want to go for a 'cheap' option, as in someone who isn't with a club at the moment... so Hughton, O'Neill, maybe Allardyce!
Malky doesnt fit the mould for the ammers these days in my mind. Chalk n cheese from family club watford to porn kings plaything ammers. For PL to go there would be a move backwards too, Norwich a much better club in my mind with a decent board.
Houghton is a good shout - or Robbins who just resigned yesterday. I think they would go with Championship experience to get them back up. Or maybe splash the cash! Who knows really
With GT as chairman and MM as manager we have to some degree got our old watford back ,the family and community orientated club!,we had lost a bit of that in the latter Boothroyd era! So to lose MM would be extremely damaging in this context! As and when MM moves on I just hope the successor buys into the watford way and looks after the kids promoted from the academy as well as Malky has!
