No, it's a cream ale, like Caffreys but smoother. Quite strong too, and yet it slips down so easily. I've not had it for years though, they don't sell it anywhere
Stout is too bitter to drink much of though. I just tend to stick to bitter in the winter and lager in the summer.
I know you won't believe this Jip but if you find Guinness 'bitter' you're drinking it too slow FACT. No offence meant
Its an acquired taste I suppose. A lot of later drinkers say the same about bitter. I definitely don't drink slowly though!
I used to drink 10 pints before I even felt it IG. I was the biggest drinker at the age of 20 in a pub full of Salford gangsters. Calmed down a bit now I've got a family, but at 19 and a half stone and 6'3 in height, I can still drink better than most. My mum's ginger though, maybe I've got some Celtic in me.
I almost posted something very vulgar and imperialist then Ciaran, but went for a piss and thought better of it. How are you this evening C? Had a few beers?
Not too bad Jip, must be the first time in a week I have been sober Took a fortnight off work to move appartments and have used it as an excuse to hit the sauce. Sort out a few things, wait on the gas/electric/furniture guys to call and thought 'I'll have a few beers here'.
There's a lot more Viking and Saxon in me though. English and proud, but I've got no problem with the Hibernians
