... quite astute sir ... we were rather pants against West Brom last game but Mahrez still produced an exquisite cross for Slimani's goal and even more impressive some dazzling footwork where he bamboozled 3 or 4 West Brom defenders with his footwork as he danced through them... can safely say there isn't anyone in the EPL as good as him with the ball at his feet when he is really on his A game ... have said many times that he is worth the entry money alone ... he is positively balletic at times....
Unfortunately, everytime i've watched him this season he's not been on his A game. He's looking slightly unfit or lazy (not running as much as last season), he's not dribbling past players like he was and for every 1 beauty of a delivery, he's wasted the ball about 5 times. He's either very tired or he's lost his hunger
Against Hull, Copenhagen away leg, United Away, Chelsea Away, Pool Away, Arse at home. Last year he was taking people on for fun, this year he seems to be getting tackled a lot and losing the ball in dangerous situations. That game against copenhagen away he was absolutely shocking. Wasted so many good opportunities
I'd argue that he was decent against Arsenal. Over on Foxestalk he was given a rating of 7.04 after 200+ votes. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/t...er-city-0-0-arsenal-results-man-of-the-match/ Can't argue with the rest though. He's had about 8 men marking him in some games.
You have a point ... although the opposition are now ensuring he is double (if not triple) marked when receiving the ball out wide ... he has been far more effective when Ranieri has switched him inside, more as a number 10 ... he has been great in all the other Champions League games tbf ...
I can understand when he is double or triple marked. The game against Copenhagen though, he rarely tracked back and he was given ample opportunities (i say ample, maybe 4 or 5 instances) where he was given the chance to take on his defender 1 on 1 on the counter and he got tackled each time. I don't know whether it was the ****ty pitch but it stuck out at me as i had a tipple on you guys beating copenhagen XD
He's the best striker at Liverpool, easily. Klopp plays with pressing forwards and Sturridge isn't one, only reason he doesn't play. Have you seen Coutinho these days? His pressing game is vital, so yes he is a work horse
He presses a bit. I'm sure i saw Sturridge do the same when he was on the wing (not up front though). Or maybe he's just too lazy nowadays and can't be bothered to play for Jurgen . Best finisher yes, best striker evidently not. You can argue all day that he's the best, he clearly isn't in Klopps eyes. It would be like claiming Moreno is the best LB at LFC but klopp just prefers to have a LB that can defend
If he doesnt press how was he part of the rogers pressing sas? Im just asking and not implying anything and also we have indulged these fools enough if they believs ppl are going to pay 50m for sturridge in january let them do so
SAS didn't press other than Suarez - we played on the counter for the most part. People comapre that team to this but we're completely different. Only similarity is the amount of goals we're scoring.
please log in to view this image I'd definitely eat a couple before handing them over tbh. Still a great deal
Tottenham are considering a move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, 27, in the January transfer window. (Bleacher Report)
