In a nutshell you're worse than you were two year ago when Rafa took over. Dress it up as you like, he hasn't moved you on one bit.
From the man himself: It's only soundbytes from a snapshot in time, but for me he needs to do a lot more to explain the selection bollox he's subjected us to. I'll say again Diame shouldn't be in a Toon shirt ever again, yet I guarantee he'll not only appear but start at least one game before 2018.
We've vastly reduced the wage bill and ran at a transfer profit of £7m since he's been here. Dress it up how you like he will do better with backing. Aw yeah he also took a team relegated straight back up, though I forgot, that's really easy to do isn't it!
If you mean a team he didn't touch until mid march and actually finished the season on a 6-match unbeaten run with, then aye. And that is just a pointless prediction before Jan, let's see if he gets some backing.
I don’t know why all the doom and gloom. We knew we were in a relegation battle this season. It could be worse we could be relegated from the PL, expecting to piss an easy league, have already sacked our manager and be staring league 1 square in the face.
Could have Chris Coleman as manager. A piss poor Championship manager that managed a one man international side.
There is no circumstance where being Sun'lun would be better. None. Ever. However, I think we're all a bit peeved that we endlessly seem to get to matchday, stare agog at the starting line up inevitably featuring Diame, Perez, Joselu or Manquillo then go on to lose in often embarrassing fashion. Definitely feels like 17th would be a great season now. By all account Swansea are going to be this years stone last. Outside of that? Not sure. I worry that the teams below such as Wet Spam, Wet Sprom and Palace have considerably better squads.
There is a certain type of fan who automatically calls for the manager's head when we lose a few games. Pisses me off when the players don't pull their weight or the manager hasn't been backed, and Rafa isn't the first manager in recent years to be in this position. Always just "replace the manager". Is there any manager who people could just say, "hey, let's just stick by this guy and give him time to turn it around"? How well a team does is largely down to the quality of players and we have a load of bang average players. We knew all this before the season started, but when the going gets tough that type of fan just folds like a deck of cards, loses their bottle and calls for the manager's head almost out of instinct. We may lose a few more before we win again but I don't see changing manager improving anything on the pitch and since it won't happen in the present circumstances with the takeover looming I don't see the negativity helping our cause at all.
They do but we knew this prior to the season and knew it would be the case when we were promoted. It could be worse as frustrating as it is.
I’m not blaming Rafa. Asked for Townsend got Murphy Asked for Abraham got Joselu Asked for Cairney had to use Perez Asked for Luke Shaw got Manquillo A workman can only use the tools at his disposal.
