I honestly dont believe Nigel will bring any Hull players here this season===waggy will return becaue vassell is out for the season then his contract is up, but where he previously had to rely on bargain basement and loan players he will now have the funds to purchase the wingers he needs to complete this squad and i dont think his shopping trolley will get anywhere near the humber so just relax dear
I hope you're right! I'll be very happy to keep our squad (minus Waghorn) for the rest of the season.
We do need a winger though and someone who is apparently highly regarded is Cameron Stewart of Hull. Looked good whenever I've seen him. Care to enlighten us Horsham?
He's just coming back after a very long lay-of. Played in the reserves in the week I think. He is awesome for this level, still young and learning. Like I've said elsewhere he'll be one NP will try to poach. He'll also sniff around Hobbs and Chester. I just hope our board stand firm like Bristol CIty did with Maynard. I thought the idea of our relationship was that you gave us players you thought were crap, we took them and made them good again! Not you lot paying silly money to nick our manager and players! We'll start calling you Hull City reserves in a while!
I guess (if NP is coming, cause theres still no official word) that NP will assess what we have, look at where we can improve, and maybe take a look at some players hes managed at Hull, all managers do it, aparently in the paper Liam Lawrence is wanted by Forest. Im thinking wingers tbh, i can't see him bolstering up anywhere else, as we have a very large squad already who just need a motivator.
Given that he's soured his relations with most of the board now I doubt we'll be desperate to sell him our best players in a hurry. I'm not worried about losing Stewart to Leicester for two reasons. 1) He doesn't work back enough, a bit suspect defensively, which is fine when he's playing up front but not great as a wide midfielder, and certainly not Pearson's style. Richard Garcia works really hard, you can have for £3.5m I reckon. 2) If he gets back to anywhere near where he was prior to his injury he won't be troubling Championship sides, he's a mid-table Premiership footballer at full flow, just a tad inconsistent.
I'm sure we can agree some exorbitant fee much like the one for Pearson. You could always ask Stewart to resign too if you don't want to pay £10m
We bought him in January for £300k. He's spent 9 of the 11 months since then out injured. I can't imagine we will.
He's been consistently excellent since he signed for us so I'd suggest you made a mistake. NP loves him, he's versatile, a leader and class going forward. If I had to gamble on which of our players Pearson would first come back for it's be between him and Chester. Both are Premier League standard defenders.
I think that there will be enough bad blood now to ensre that Waggy comes back and we sign noone from hull
I think you're probably right. Even if NP did want to come back for anybody, the players are not exactly impressed with NP's actions this week, so they wouldn't necessarily jump at the chance(though obviously they might jump at the money).
