It all depends on what he wants most. Does he want every penny he can get or does he want to get out of Toon? That will be the main determiner in my opinion as if he wants every penny he won’t be able to sell the Club. For no particular reason I can put my finger on I feel he wants out and therefore won’t go for every penny which means it’s down to how much will he reduce his expectations to leave.
As someone 'close to him' was reported to have said a couple of years ago, he won't sell for a loss as it's "just not his way". If there are several people looking to buy the club I think he'll be able to drive the price up and, as I say, the TV money is expected to rise again. I don't think this is in anyway him getting out with a cut price deal.
Agree. It won’t be a cut price deal but it’s going to be how much/how little profit he’s wanting to make.
I think there is a chance that £35m 'short-term loan' could stay on the books to get a deal done. All ifs and buts at the moment to be fair.
Why are you two still debating it? Albert said a deal will happen for £335m and I for one think we should trust him on this.
Understood. Have just put 3grand on a sale before end November at 3-1. Appreciate that you can’t say due to issues with insider trading etc. However will see you right when it comes in.
Apparently offer now been tabled Newcastle United takeover: Amanda Staveley and PCP Partners value Magpies at £300million The talk in the Middle East suggests that investment will be available for Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez in the January window PCP Partners’ initial bid for Newcastle United is understood to be worth £300million. The group - spearheaded by Amanda Staveley - have been in discussions with Mike Ashley after signing non-disclosure agreement forms and entering due diligence to assess the club’s finances. It is now believed that PCP Partners value the Magpies at £300million and player investment would follow after a potential takeover. Reports in the UAE, via the National, suggest that Staveley would like the deal wrapped up by December in order to give Rafa Benitez every chance to get plans in place for the January transfer window. So how much is Newcastle United REALLY worth? A football finance expert has the answer It is also suggested in the Middle East that United will emulate the same model as Manchester City have under Abu Dhabi ownership. Current owner Mike Ashley had stated he would only sell to a group that were prepared to take the club on to the next level, and it is clear that were Staveley to be successful in her bid to buy United there would be transfer activity in the January window. Reports in the UK last weekend had suggested that £500million would be available for Benitez to spend in the next two windows. That is understood to have been overestimated in the media, but a competitive spending kitty awaits the Toon boss if the deal comes off. The National publication carries a quote from Staveley regarding her involvement in the Manchester City takeover in 2008 when Abu Dhabi invested in Manchester City. Staveley is reported to have said: “The experience I gained has been instrumental in preparing me for the investment I wish to make now in the same league.” It has previously been reported that Ashley would accept £380million but no price tag has been set according to sources close to United. However, Ashley’s lawyer Andrew Henderson has confirmed that staged payments for the club would be acceptable. From Newcastle Chronicle
At least it is looking promising if serious bids are being made. Also means Ashley has to really show his cards now - is it about getting maximum cash, or just about getting out quick?
No he does have an inside source. He is shagging Ms Staveley. My Mrs is going to be furious when she finds out he is two timing her.
