The thing we have to look at is that signing 5 players is a major overhaul of the side (unless we are signing second string players, and what is the point of that?). I don't think we'll do that in the last 4 days of the transfer window.

Well if you put it like that i think the club will only sign Gaston and thats it what i want is 4 players
I agree with you in terms of a major overhaul of the team and I also agree that there is no point signing players that are not better than what we already have.
What I would say is that the premier league is now all about a 25 man squad and having strength in depth for every position, I don't think we have that yet. I'm not saying bring in 4-6 player to start straight away against Utd but we certainly need these numbers to get through the season. We should be looking (as it seems we are) for good young talent with the potential to improve themselves, the squad and the team.
And again I do agree that we have maybe left it a little late to get this kind of number of players, time will tell. Hopefully we are in for an exciting week.
Even my pessimistic forecast is struggling, time is running out and I am getting more than a bit anxious at the lack of action.
Me too, but you have to remember that the majority of the deals in the transfer window do actually go through on the last day through domino effects within the league etc.
Part of life at the top though. Some will train on and make it others will have to drop down. We have to continue to improve!
