Well Norwich's players actually played very well last season and look far more cohesive. Most of Villa's players were pretty disappointing and they finished on 38 points. They're also pretty strapped for cash aren't they. All they can do is make more cheap signings, which are always risky because they may not perform and the togetherness of the team could take even more of a hit. Unless Lambert gets something more out of those who disappointed last season (which is pretty much everyone except Bent, N'Zogbia, Petrov and Given), then I really think they're going to be low on morale and will really struggle.
Then would it not have been sensible to have got the new central defender to sign on the dotted line before letting Martin go out on loan? Adkins is always upbeat on the transfer front, as he is over just about everything - bless him However, our squad lacks depth and one injury at centre back this Saturday or a red card means we will have either Seaborne or Stephens playing the next game or three... games that include Man Utd and Arsenal...
Cork has tweeted positively about his injury so hopefully not too long. However, I will be near suicidal if he has to play in defence.
