League table based on last 8 matches. Swans bottom with 3 points. They have the worse record in the whole division over the last 8 matches. There needs to be a dramatic turnaround in form. Is this team capable of that.

Palace and Sunderland (the two relegation "certainties") both got 10 points from their last 8 matches.

    Table at http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/PR/oform.html.

Fulham will be the key game and its a must win game..we were so sure we would beat them on the last day last season because their form was so poor. Well they romped home 3-0 winners with ease and our form has not improved from that time and they will be confident of the 3 points. We don't have any confidence at all, we are all mouth and no action so if laudrup cant install some belief and motivation into the squad then we will see the same old thing of the majority of possession with fulham having the majority of the shots on target and will go on and win like they did last time...I dont have an ounce of confidence in laudrup being able to turn things around...

Its good being basic. Our last 8 include playing

    Man Utd (a)
    Man City (h)
    Tottenham (h)
    Chelsea (a)
    Everton (h)
    Hull (h)
    Norwich (a)
    Villa (a)

When you rule out the first 5 as losses on paper, I would have had 5 points (home win v Hill, and 2 away draws v Norwich and Villa) at a push maybe a draw with Everton, but they have played well this season, so prob not. so is it as bad as it sounds?

Now compare that to Sunderlands last 8

    Southampton (h)
    Fulham (a)
    Villa (h)
    Cardiff (a)
    Everton (a)
    Norwich (h)
    West Ham (a)
    Spurs (h)

I would have had us down for 10 in those games, with draws v Southampton, Fulham, Cardiff, West Ham, and wins v Villa and Norwich. So 10 points is on par with what I reckon we would have wanted.

    and Palace

    Stoke (h)
    Spurs (a)
    Norwich (h)
    Man City (a)
    Villa (a)
    Newcastle (h)
    Chelsea (a)
    Cardiff (h)

With those fixtures, I would have us penned down for 11 points, with wins at home v Stoke, Norwich and Cardiff, and draws against Newcastle and Villa.

So its all well and good looking at form, but look deeper. And you will see a huge difference in opposition.

For their remaining fixtures I have Sunderland down for:

    Win
    H Hull City
    H West Brom
    H Crystal Palace
    H West Ham United
    H Cardiff City
    H Swansea City

    Draw
    A Newcastle United
    A Norwich City

    Loss
    A Manchester City
    A Arsenal
    A Liverpool
    A Tottenham Hotspur
    H Everton
    A Chelsea
    A Manchester United

So a total of 20 points on paper for me

Then you have Palace. who have

    Win
    H Hull City
    H Albion
    H Aston Villa

    Draw
    A Swansea
    H Southampton
    A Sunderland
    A Newcastle
    A Cardiff
    A West Ham
    A Fulham

    Lose
    A Arsenal
    A Everton
    H Man Utd
    H Chelsea
    H Man City
    H Liverpool

So for me on paper, they would be looking at 16 points.

So yeh they have had the better form of the last 8 games, they have had easier opposition, where as we have the easier run in on paper.
