Buck can't bring the " Swansea Game " with him , he got to go cold turkey with his own ideas & what he's got & will get for players . This team almost built itself under 3 managers . Rodgers legacy will be the players he brought into the club , most fit like a glove to what Martinez had left .
We will survive with or without brendan just like we have survived when all the other previous managers moved on...dont worry about it what will be will be.....
BR is one of those managers that is always going to be offered opportunities; when out of work the next job is never going to be far away. He doesn't have to jump at every dubious or risky situation that comes along just because the club has a name. Look at the people's names that keep getting recycled season after season, club after club at the Prem and top championship level. It's like a closed ol'boys club. Breaking in is hard to do, but he's got himself a membership in that club now, he's got a seat at the table, chit in the "game" - pick your cliche. He's good at his craft and is only going to get better as his experience broadens, his knowledge of the player base expands, his knowledge of other manager's strategies expands; he experiments, perfects, iterates again in his coaching methods, tactical styles and so on. He is progressive, based on listening to him talk on MOD3, he is streets ahead of the pundits in terms of his thinking and understanding of the game. He turned down a coaching slot under Mancini to join us. He's no fool and understands that he's in the process of building his brand. I think he's smart enough to understand he's in this for the next 30 years and he doesn't need to stagnate or join a possible train wreck or walk into a mine field now - Liverpool, Chelsea et al. From time to time, he is going to talk to other clubs. I would, whether I had any interest in the job or not. For two simple reasons - one, it's always good to reassess your worth and that's one of the easiest ways to do it; two, competitive analysis. When you go on a job interview at this level, the prospective employer is going to have to disclose to some degree some aspects of their business that they'd rather not disclose under normal circumstances and would most likely prefer to be kept hidden. They could be negative or positive but either because full disclosure is necessary or because they are trying to lure the candidate interesting things get discussed and inside knowledge is transferred. There's value in that. Some might think that it borders on industrial espionage; tough. There are questions that can be asked in a job interview from the candidate to the employer that pry open doors, or may not be answered but what is not said can be just as enlightening as what is said. So hang on to your hats, it's going to be an up and down ride on the near term. But, the beauty of it is .... the higher up we climb, the fewer the opportunities that will come along that would entice a manager to leave. Let's face it, West Brom have an opening too, as do Villa, does anybody think BR would leave to go there ... it's laughable to even think it. A year ago, we wouldn't be so sure. Next year, when the likes of a Liverpool come calling we'll be chuckling about that too.
Yankee, what a fantastic, well thought ot post. I for one won't be worrying. BR is no fool, he's dedicated to the Swans and has just signed one of the future stars of football.
I`ve also mentioned this Ivor That`s much better Dai, far easier to read & take in your points properly That`s the trouble these days, if it ain`t true make it all up and convince everyone that it`s trueish. And as for twitface ............. say no more.
Let's just say ... it was hot, the drinks were cold, we were losing. I had a "terrible" example set by everybody around me.
You see that Dragon,it's always somebody else's fault. Sounds like you were in good company,Yankee. They looked like a decent bunch.
