No worries, I get your humour but others do not and there lies the rub, if I receive complaints I have to address them as impartially as possible but it doesn't always work, no one is infallible.

Project, not wishing to stir the pot but in law the comment was libellous. At least arguably. Mrs Bercow (the Speaker of the House's wife) was found culpable recently in libelling John McAlpine merely be passing comment on Twitter something that implied he was a *****phile, even though her comment wasn't specific, flippant and some would say humourous.

Sadly, we have to be careful what we say these days in today's police state. I think it's a matter of time before someone says something here and finds themselves in serious hot water. The police in their infinite wisdom have publicly stated they are targetting football forums. You'd think they had better things to do - like catching real criminals.

A question cannot be libellous? <laugh> Sorry that's claptrap. Nothing is black and white and it depends on what is asked and its context. In fact I recall Sally Bercow's was phrased as a question. Game over.

You aren't alone, Project. Many people on this forum will find themselves in serious hot water I think, just because of passing comments they think is "banter". Not taking sides but simply pointing out that we all have to be careful - some more than others. <ok>
