I'll let you know at the end of the season. There is no doubting in my mind that we are a better squad, but we inexcusably sold our best player to a (used to be) rival and pretty much handed the league title to the ****y mancs. I have sympathy for those who have been spoilt by the Wenger sucesses, but there are a lot of clubs who would love to be in our situation. We have regressed over recent years for reasons that I have given numerous times, many out of our control. However, I am optimistic about the future and even for the rest of this season. Regardless, I'll still support and back our club as long as I live.
I was only teasing you mate Joking apart it's very interesting when little bits of info can be dug out which prove things aren't as bad as some fans like to make out
That's one way to look at it. We lack that clinical forward now though to really push us on to the next level. When teams get ahead and focus on defending we struggle to break them down. Again if we go back to the City and Chelsea games we went behind early and despite MASSIVE territorial advantage and numerous chances we still score the goals required. So yes, Our WF's are doing better this term better and our midfield is creating more but I think we are FAR less clincal without RVP.
We were always going to miss RVP as an individual. He has the ability to turn a game in an instant. But overall, the team are scoring more, have the same amount of points and are closer to the top 4 than we were last season at the same stage, so we're not missing him as badly as we first feared. Against Chelsea and City we basically didn't turn up in the 1st half and by the time we got going it was too late. But we did show that the quality is there, as we outplayed them both in the 2nd halfs of those games. We need to make sure we start every game like we did against West Ham, where we were at them from the off and got our reward 5-1.
