Not bitter mate. Congratulated Saints and said they deserved to win straight after the game on the PL thread. #AnotherFossyFail
I'm glad to see that my informative thread has sparked such hot-potato debate. I had feared that this thread would be hijacked by the Pixie-pede, so I am pleased to see that everyone is behaving himself.
HIAG mate, Sky would like you to dress up as a 25 year old female and play act for him. The rimming, welching, bullshitting, dildo fingering part you will come naturally to you of course.
4 match ban for Wenger. Tried to talk his way out of it but the FA weren't having any of it. Still lenient though tbf. Although some may argue Gooner's chances of beating Chelsea have just improved.
GUNNERS LEGEND SLAMS WENGER'S DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOUR! The pressures of pushing for the Premier League title while attempting to resolve the futures of key men are taking their toll on Arsene Wenger, according to Paul Merson. The Arsenal manager allowed his frustration to boil over in the Gunners’ most recent outing, with the Frenchman sent from the touchline during a dramatic 2-1 victory over Burnley. Having become embroiled in a war of words with the match officials, which eventually led to him pushing Anthony Taylor, Wenger has been stung with a four-match ban by the Football Association. He will now be forced to watch from the stands as Arsenal look to progress in the FA Cup, while also seeking to close the eight-point gap which currently separates them from Chelsea at the English top-flight summit. Wenger also has contract extension issues surrounding Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to contend with, along with his own deal that is due to expire at the end of the season. Former Gunners forward Merson fears all of these commitments are becoming too much, with the Arsenal boss fortunate not to have been hit with a harsher punishment for losing his temper and in danger of seeing another title slip through his grasp. He wrote in a column for the Daily Star: “Arsene Wenger did the right thing accepting his FA charge for pushing a fourth official. But he’s really been showing his frustration lately. And if Jose Mourinho had done what Wenger did, they’d probably be taking away his coaching badges, wouldn’t they? Wenger’s been in bust-ups before but I can’t really remember him ever doing something like that before and I think it’s just frustration. Arsenal are second but no-one is really talking about them as title winners, and I can’t see them winning it if I’m being honest. You watch them and usually there are 12 or 13 times a season when they’re breathtaking. I’ve not seen that too many times this season. They are going to the wall too many times against sides they should be beating. People say that’s showing character but these are teams you should be destroying. “You can’t do what Wenger did. It’s out of order. But I think the situation with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil is playing on his mind as well. It’s been going on for weeks now and it’s taking it’s toll. It should have been done by now but I think both players are waiting to see what happens.” (Sky Sports) There you have it, lads. Even club legends have had enough of Le Vieux Fou's lack of respect for game officials.
I trust that someone has bookmarked this?* *I won't, because I'm not that sad, but I would like to be able to refer back to this post, in the event that Spurs finish above Arsenal this season, for the purposes of extreme wummery. Thanks.
Not about Wenger it's about the FA being spineless. If you offer up a slap on the wrist then it's going to get taken. 10 game ban minimum and a 100k plus fine. You can't touch an official regardless of how much we all like to have a pop at them. That just invites anarchy in theory.
Agreed, Bruv. Putting all rivalry aside, the FA will come to rue being so lenient with Wenger. Any kind of an assault on an official has to be dealt with in the severest fashion. Wenger should have got a lifetime stadium ban, effectively ending his managerial career. A 4 match ban is laughable! What kind of message does that send to thuggish parents watching little Johnny play down at the local park? Unbelievable.
I tend to agree, mate. If a player had done that, he'd be in serious trouble. As a manager, Whinger is supposed to be setting an example, not shoving officials around in the midst of his hissy fit. It was a nailed on penalty too. So he had no complaints in the first place.
