The players are guilty of not working as a team and having far too many "bad days at the office" but it's up to him and his coaches to a) coach that laissez-faire attitude out of them or b) drop them to the bench (or altogether) if they don't or can't show the qualities he's looking for and thinks the team needs.
The buck has to stop somewhere.
I agree, the buck stops with him, but if he´s not going to resign, and he´s absolutely right not to, and the board aren´t going to sack him, then it´s up to the players to start playing like the professionals they claim to be, because at the moment they´re playing like amateurs.
..and as for your suggestion that he should drop under-performing players to the bench or altogether, within three weeks he wouldn´t have a squad to play with if he did that.
