To be fair, a generic 'hello world' would have sufficed. But the same tripe to five or six people individually was more than my poor little north Norfolk timeline could deal with. Plus all this was months ago - and we move on...don't we?
I think I can see where both sides are coming from on twitter.
I consider myself strongly liberal so I think the concept of twitter is fantastic - giving everyone a voice. Ad a great way of spreading news and opinion.
Unfortunately, of course, with freedom of speech you always run the risk that the loudest shouters will just be doing it out of vanity.
I definitely think it's worth it. You just have to be patient.

Pretty sad state of affairs really. Shame there's not millions of people following people who matter great leaders (mind you there aren't any at the moment sadly) scientists etc but no its shallow and vapid "celebrities" who you wouldn't recognise walking down the street because they wear so much make up and photoshopped to within an inch of their life......

Twitter us a great platform for complaining to companies to. Complained to green flag after they kept me waiting 2.5 hours and got the usual half price renewal and £50 cash.
LV sent a letter to a recently deceased aunt a week after ptheyd paid on the claim, quick moan and a huge bunch of flowers arrived. Brilliant way if cutting the BS CS out
Spot on, Rob, and unlike facebook, on twitter you can easily and painlessly
follow and unfollow people at your leisure without anyone getting the hump - unlike facebook where people tend to seem affronted if you 'unfriend' them for talking a load of squit and posting pix of themselves tipping water over their heads. Most people I follow on there are NCFC fans, local news/weather/events listings, etc, the growing birdwatching and photography fraternity and travel writers/bloggers especially re: the Balkan nations, Croatia etc.And real-time info from airlines, bus and train companies re: delays etc are useful, too.
But those who talk ****e, or issue threats and or ultimata soon get discarded.

I like facebook, never could get into twitter though. It's a great way to here what a number of your friends are upto, in my book. Granted I'd rather catch up down the pub, but particulaly for someone who has moved around a little it is great to keep in touch a little with people who have touched your life in some way or another. And I was just having a cold shower in the garden, whilst fully dressed!!!
To be fair I also think if your main experience of FB or Twatter centres around football fans, and they all appear to be remedials and muppets. I think you'll find that might actually say a fair ammount more about football fans! Judging by the very positive lot around me on Saturday, they're generally not your average Mensa candidate.

Much as I hate to break into this interesting discussion of the relative merits of various forms of social media, I thought we might go back to the original question with a quote from McAvoy in today's Pink'un:

SO WHAT? What if they are leaving their families up there. You realise it could just be as simple as once it gets to the summer school is finished so they won't disrupt their schooling moving midterm.
I just think you come across as using every other word that comes out if his mouth for your own agenda of disliking our new manager.
I think it's really impatient, disrespectful and unnecessary. Most of us are at least willing to give the guy a chance you can't judge him on what's happened so far it'll take time and nothing will change that fact same as any new manager coming in.

If we were going to be patient we should have given Neeyul a whole season but we went for a quick fix, we were on the cusp of a play off position after leading for a while the new chap hardly had a relegation survival job.
I sincerely hope Alex will do the business but other than that inspirational 20 min take over of Phelan's game that in reality Jerome won we have looked worse if anything.

I don't agree about sacking Neil on the basis of getting play-offs or not. If we narrowly miss out, for example, I won't be clamouring for his head. It will be the manner of the second half of the season that will, for me, make up my mind whether he should stay another season. If we finish strongly, we should definitely keep him for next season's promotion push.
Why?
He has on paper the best squad & we will lose a few of them if we don't go up as the parachute payments dry up and players wanting out, he has practically half a season to do better than Adams granted with a point off the play offs to start .
McNally went for it and put him in charge to get 6th place or better if he doesn't achieve that then both of their arses are on the line surely ?.
I am not anti Alex I really hope he can do the job for us but he is an unkown entity so far so he needs to get us playing well cut out the defensive **** ups and consistantly win important games.
Winning tomorrow is a must , the decision to play Whittacker was a gamble and it spectaculary failed could Wes not have played in the middle with Johnson sitting back ?
Maybe it's just the dissapointment in losing to Brentford and the annoying pens and clusterfuck defending but I don't feel confident for tomorrow .
As I recall, Paul Lambert always retained roots / family north of the border but people weren't so quick to see that as a sign of fickleness / short termism. Yet it's pretty similar in many ways?
