i was very critical of our support or lack of it on saturday but we've got 2,000+ at watford tonight - brilliant support considering our away record and the fact its watford!
i like the concept guru but what would be the point in appointing a manager who is not as good as hughton?
As I'm sure you realise, I understood perfectly well what you meant. While in some contexts it can indeed mean "weight" or "heaviness", in that context it is simply a misuse of the word. Why not just say that a struggling club with limited funds holds little appeal to top class managers?
If you understood what I mean't why try and say I am totally wrong. You just thought you were being a smart arse.
It would be great to have Hoddle putting his hand over the players hearts at the start of every game to instill positive energy and I'd love to see all the backroom staff running in an anticlockwise direction prior to the match to increase the chances of winning,
No, I just subscribe to the Campaign for Plain English. What you meant was perfectly correct, a struggling club with limited funds holds little appeal to top managers; your choice of words on the other hand was just another example of your penchant for misusing the language. Which of us, if either, is a smart arse I leave others to judge.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/norwichs-chris-hughton-could-next-2297837? One of the worst articles I have read. How can they get away with writing **** like this with nothing to back it up?
yep, i don't think any of us have learnt anything new from reading it but its still worth a read. we're a bit patchy - we have a few things that need to be sorted, one or two quite urgently if we are to have a good season, but they are all things that can be sorted so why be hasty and sack the manager before giving him a chance to try and solve them? that's my view anyway
