How long did it take rodgers to implement tika taka...hmmm... i would say he has still not succeeded in implementing it anywhere..<laugh>

It was painful trying to watch Liverpool trying to play it, its one thing to pass the ball its another thing to pass the ball under presure in tight areas!!

Rodgers needs to check page 125 of his dossier ...<laugh>

under the chapter "what to do when you realised you've dropped a massive bollock and bitten off more than you can bullshit your way through" a catchy title i must say :)

Brenden has a big job on his hands,if he took the spurs job it would have been far easier to impliment his tactics, spurs are a team of footballers, liverpool are not. Gerrard didnt look intrested yesterday, watching him give the ball away and not bother to run and try and win it back summed up where its going to go wrong for buck, if the captain doesnt try and carry out your orders then why should the others?

    Anyway, swans won 5-0 ..<laugh>

    In Laudrup we trust :)

Rogers main forte was the hard work he put in studying the game after his injury and his obvious talents as a motivational speaker. When he was here, I expected him to one day go to the top, however, if this was a move too early, time will tell.

In his own mind, he is The Special One reincarnated, however Jose managed to get results pretty quickly when he got hand picked himself for Porto (like Rogers to 'pool). 3rd in the Portugal League first year and the UEFA Cup and in his second year he predicted and achieved his goal of being Potuguese Champions (and the Champions League also).

Right now, I recon BR's move was too early and the 'pool experience may be a hard lesson for him. If results do not follow, motivational skills go out the window when you are at a team expecting silverwear rather than just survival/improvement.

Rodgers' biggest problem in implementing "his" style at Liverpool will be Steven Gerrard.

That such an outstandingly mediocre and technically inferior player has been held in such high regard in English football over the past decade is a major indicator as to where they've been going wrong as a footballing nation. He would have been a fringe player at best for the likes of Spain, Germany, Argentina or Brazil. Here they made him captain.

  4. Before the season started, I predicted that it was a two-horse race between RDM and Brendan Rodgers as to which would be the first to get sacked. I put my money on Rodgers, and after the weekend's matches, I believe that my money is safe <ok>

Some Mousers are already calling for his head <laugh>

agree with some of the above, however i remember debating with a few of you who was the manager of the season a while back, nearly all of you said rogers deserved manager of the year. his exit and two face-ness upon leaving for LFC soured peoples opinions of him understandably and now its all 'he merely continued what was already here'.

surprised that rogers didnt credit martinez for starting the passing play when he was at swansea though....<ok>

Swamp it was mainly due to our league position why we thought so. Many pundits had predicted that Swansea were destined for relegation before the sweat dried on their heads after wembley. So surely in the eyes of everyone our achievement was monumental. Would make sense to get manager of the year.

And thats not me saying I think he is a bad manger because i don't, I just think we made him more than he made us. If that makes sense?

Did a great job with us and it will never be forgotten. He has talent, no doubt .... this year we shall see how much!

He was willing to take the **** when Angel backpassed to Vorm but took too much credit for my liking regarding the system already in place. Even great orators like Tony Blair got found out to be a bullshitter when he didn't deliver. Buck has talked a big talk since taking the undoubted step up to an ambitious Liverpool..... we shall see!!

Feeling good at the moment after yesterdays victory and reminising over the previous seasons with some mates tonight so just a few rambling thoughts to kill time ok !
After all the summer turmoil again is behind us it`s great that we now move on with ML at the helm , and what a start for the most respected ex player turned manager we could have hoped for . I think we have been living a charmed life for quite some time now and thats largely due to the excellent choices made by HJ and the board .
And so little old swansea are now rich beyond our wildest dreams compared to a few years ago and our leaders certainly know how to put it to good use. The academy will be a great asset to the club for future players and we are still one of the most financially well run clubs in all leagues built on solid foundations for the future . Even when things have been stired up with guys coming and leaving we always seem to come out of it smelling of roses and long may it continue.
Even if the not so good times return one day they wont seem so bad when we think of whats happened since the hull game to this season and possibly beyond. S.T.I.D.

BOSS and SWAMP this may surprise you then,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiki-taka

    The concept goes way back.

Martinez was used to PLAYING this style before coming to Swansea. Rogers has never played it and, as been stated many times by my esteemed Boardsters, ' blagged it '.

What's Sousa up to now? If he's unemployed then I'll drive him to Mark Hughes and demand that he employs him as defensive coach. He would be ace at that job.

Managing Videoton in Hungary. Don't think he's doing too bad there, I'm sure I heard a couple of months ago that they were scoring for fun...don't know how believable that is though

Yes. And he did it well, fair play musty. But anyone could see where the problems lay - a lack of creativity and goals. He signed Sinclair and the rest is history. As has been said, our players were already well drilled in pass and move.

We all said it was a massive risk for Liverpool - even those that wished him well when he left - and we were right. After coming in for Allen when he said he wouldn't there can't be too many Swans fans who didn't chuckle at Liverpool's result.
