It's hilarious that Lucas, Kuyt and Skrtel were all savaged by some fans at one time and they all went on to be club or fans' Players of the Year. So how about that apology from JWH? Apparently he apologised for dumping a squad on BR which features Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Gerrard, Jonson, Lucas, Suarez and an "unplayable" Carroll challenging Rooney for his Euro place. Poor, poor Brendan. It's not fair. It's a long way from Dalglish saying he had no problem with the squad the media blamed for Hodgson's performance. Still, I can understand Chelsea fans being outraged at the sacking of a club legend after winning stuff. That's bang out of order. RA is off the rails.
I know and it's hilarious that some fans don't back a new young manager who gets their team playing good football
Neither you nor I know what Rafa will count as success and even less of a clue as to Abramovich's target for the end of the season. Provided that those two are clear as to what those targets are then the opinions of any others (fans or players) count for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Interesting that you chose to concentrate on Terry, Cole, Cech and Lamaprd. They are a major part of the problem at Chelsea. Rafa will have no concern in either reducing them to the squad or assisting them out of the door (an objective that RDM could not/would not undertake). The future for Chelsea lies with Matta etc and they owe no particular loyalty and will probably welsome an experienced manager. Given the short term nature of Rafa's contract, he is there to achieve some quite specific objectives that the owner believed that RDM could not achieve. Rafa is not there to be loved or to build for the future.
I take your point about both the short term goals & the 'new guard' being the future, rather then Terry's etc. However, they're all still there in the present & will kick up a shiit storm behind the scenes, if they don't like either his decisions or his tactics. No manager ever wants disgruntled players hanging round the place, especially if they're of the stature & influence of the likes of Terry, Cole, Lampard & Cech! It'll be interesting, but my money's firmly on a car crash.
Surely for the chav fans thats a good thing. He's a horrible footballer, how on earth he's managed to convince everyone that he can play football is still a mystery. He must cost the chavs more points than anyone else, course its fun to watch as a non-chav,
