It was a simple enough question, I genuinely have no idea why everybody's acting like I shot their cat.
I don't see it as trolling anymore, i think he's expressing his genuine opinion, but if he isn't then they should ban him off the board. Then again maybe I could say i'm trolling myself then I could get away with writing any sort of crap that I want, like this guy does.
This is what message boards are for - debate and discussion among the fans. We should not take each other too seriously as we are merely "Football Manager" PC Game enthusiasts who have no idea as to the real world of Club Management. Nevertheless we are entitled to our opinions, and TWF is no exception. Starting a thread on the boards which is going to cause controversy happens on every Club message boards and we have the option to reply or not. "How long are we going to give Big Nige"? begs for a response. Nigel has proven that he knows what he is doing and has done well with limited resources. He has also proven to be a man who does not like being in the public eye especially doing interviews - which he doesn't do very well at all and is clearly uncomfortable. He does appear to have the players support and has bonded the team. My opinion is that we have so far failed to recruit and there has been no targets that are inspiring 'great expectations' next season (for me anyway). I can see more of the 'same-old-same-old' next season and mid-table consolidation as the team continues it's steady rebuilding strategy. Top six is way out of the question for me as there are (imo) much better teams than ours (at the moment). I still hope for the 'rabbit out of the hat' and 'knock your socks off' signings/loan-in's over the next couple of months but can see no Fraizer Campbell's on the horizon just now. I'm just glad that we are still here which is something to be very thankful about and wish Nigel and Co. the very best for the future.
Roo, I agree with you that posts that cause controversy are good to debate, and for the board as a whole, and should be posted, but I think that you have mistaken controversy for antagonism in this instance, posted by someone with devilment in his mind at the time.
Too true - but these boards are not to be compared to the personal columns of "The Times" and are here for the lesser mortals like ourselves. There will be much debate over the close season when the 'targets' are named and signed. My concern is the lack of a potential 'striker' in our sights and I would not be surprised if Steve Bruce does not send Fraizer out into the Champuionship to be 'toughened up' prior to continuing his career. I hope it is with us but the abuse the lad got when he didn't sign for us would probably put us down the pecking order.
Some of which are like yours and not really direct responses to the topic. Only a few were what I'd call a response, the rest were pointing out he's a WUM or light hearted off topic replies.
