Firstly, don't make fun of my dyslexia, your not big, funny or clever. Secondly, have I? All i've shown is that I can post relative and strictly informative facts about a Goalkeeper this thread is about. The only stupid thing is that Leeds fans can't seem to grasp the truth.
I pointed out that there are far too many variables involved for the facts you presented to provide any objective judgement of a goalkeeper. The number of mistakes made provides a better account of how good a goalkeeper is, as the only factor involved is the goalkeepers ability. The facts you presented have variables such as quality of the defense, number of shots against the keeper, positioning of the player taking the shot and shots being taken in a fashion that, realistically, doesn't give the goalkeeper any chance of saving it because of events leading up to the shot. If you base it on mistakes made, conceding goals where the goalkeeper was at fault, Schmeichels tally is significantly higher. I counted 3 in one game the last time we played Millwall. Lonergan has made one poor goal kick all season and that was rectified by saving the penalty that came about as an indirect result. On that basis I can make a pretty good judgement that Lonergan is a better goalkeeper.
OK, so you can just ignore that stats and just come to your own conclusion that Lonergan is clearly better because he has only made one bad kick all season. Excellent. Leeds fans never fail to amuse me.
Andy Stats aside on all this Schmeichel/Lonergan argument, only Leeds fans can comment on both keepers, unless you or anyone else has seen them both play numerous games. I genuinely think Lonergan is the better keeper. For one, he's certainly better at co-operating with the defence and he's less error prone. For us it was very good business, we have improved the position in our team and made about £1m on it too, give or take a few grand. So, all your money aside, as you're buying the league (congratulations on being top and running away with it so far by the way), I think we're the overall winners on this one. Not saying Schmeichel is a bad keeper at all. He was quite impressive for us in the first half but his performances went down hill as the season went on. But we can only judge on what we see and so far, if I had both keepers in my squad then Kasper would be on the bench.
You're forgetting that the stats you've chosen are so arbitrary as it's practically impossible to really genuinely make a judgement on how good a keeper is based on those stats. I've said this already 100 times, the best keeper in the world would let in 1 goal for every save he makes if put behind the worst defense in the world and against the best attack in the world. We can apply this logic to the situation because it's common knowledge your team has a stronger back line than ours. Put in words you might be able to understand (but I highly doubt it) - of the goals Lonergan has conceded, I don't remember one where he could have done more to stop it. I've seen Schmeichel let in plenty where he was directly at fault. Essentially, I am using a statistic - number of goalkeeper errors. Just because I don't have the numbers on hand doesn't mean it's not a valid statistic. It's more valid because it's the only statistic where the only variable is the goalkeeper.
You can't base your opinion just on statistics, just the same as you can't on judging a player's performance when you watch a game. Schmeichel was a decent keeper for Leeds, with some great games equalled by some very poor ones. He made mistakes as well as incredible saves. However, so far, Lonergran has been a better player for Leeds. But that doesn't mean that Kasper will be poor for Leicester, or one is better than the other. When Kasper left, I said that I though this would be a great deal for both clubs. Which judging by the way both fans are claiming to have the best keeper, it has been a great deal!
Think you mean "you are not..." Or does dyslexia affect grammar too? Oh and your Adonis goalkeeper has let in two goals so far today...but it's half time now.
