Apologies YNBK for the delayed response-I've been super busy at work! I think that saves per game is what should be looked at anyway, as its a stat that has a constant running through in regards to time played. Each keeper gets 90 mins to make as many saves as they can (sounding like a gameshow challenge now!) and when compared to each other, you can rate them. There are variables, such as some scores dont tell the whole story, but as we are in the same division, the standard is roughly the same so its (roughly) a fair test. If done saves per goal, some goalies may have LOADS to do inbetween each goal, and others absolutely nothing (Rabchuka v coventry any1?) So a goalie may play a game, make 20 saves and conceed at the end, and another make 5 saves and conceed at the end, one set of fans will be saying 20 saves per goal, and the other only five, despite the fact that they both only conceeded 1. Bottom line, saves per goal is too open to be used as a reliable, accurate way to compare goalies. Actually, the more I think about it, its absolutely pointless!
tin pot club? I dont like to judge any1 without knowing them fella, but u aren't makin a great impression for yourself or leicester city! Even with all your money and ur "great" keeper ur not setting the league on fire. I wouldn't start slating other peoples clubs till u've actually achieved something... preferably without throwing loads of money at it
Exactly, there are variables. But over the course of the season those will be ironed out and as it stands Kasper is ahead. It isn't totally pointless because a Keeper is meant to save goals so by comparing Saves made and goals conceded you can see how reliable inbetween the sticks they are.
So you're saying your stadium, owners and fans are not 'tinpot'. You're history may well be fabulous and i'm not lying when I say well done. But the future is all that counts and Leicester's looks a lot better than Leeds' when Bates and Grayson are in charge.
it is pointless, I cant explain it any more simple I'm afraid fella-a goalie could make hundreds of saves and still conceed hundreds, and another conceed so few with a few saves. Mathematically its not a fair way to compare goalies. We should all be happy to say we both have good goalies, although we will obviously prefer the ones we have as they wear our shirt
But its not like that. I think someone said that Kasper has had one shot saved less than Andy. So its not like a keeper is making hundred more saves. They have both made around 55 saves each and Kasper has conceded 10 whereas Lonergan has conceded 16. Surely that, after only 11 games, is the best indication we have as to who is the better keeper?! I'm not saying Lonergan is a bad keeper, not by any stretch, but Kasper has been our best goalkeeper since Tim Flowers and it makes me laugh when Leeds fans (YNBK in particular) fail to see that the stats show Kasper has had a blinder of a start to his Leicester career.
Goes without saying-I dont think u'll find a Leeds fan to support Bates regime at this moment in time, but i'll wait to reserve judgement on Leicester-I dont think u'll get promoted this year, and I would think fair enough, as your team does need time to gel. But if you didn't go autos next season with the squad and money at your disposal, u should be asking questions of your management
Agreed. I think we'll make the play-offs, but that is a lottery and completely down to luck. I also think Leeds will fall short again, their squad doesn't have the quality in depth as others and Grayson is a tactical idiot.
You know nothing about our squad we know an awful lot more about yours because u have most of our rejects! Ur great at arguing you're stats are right but that's the only thing you're good at, I know lonergan is better than Kasper ive seen them Both home and away! Maybe he hasn't let you down yet but at the end of the season do you think you will be saying the same thing? Kasper was fanatastic for us in the 1st half of the season but at the 2nd he was dreadful. He blamed every goal he conceded on the defence while he caused us to concede so many goals like Barnsley home where if he had moved a foot or so to his left and reached out he could of saved that free-kick, in stead he did nothing and blamed the wall. If he had won that we could of possibly got to the play offs. Kasper Schmiechel is an arrogant but good shot stopper, Lonergan is a consistent, good all round keeper with a level head. I'd have Loners over Kasper any day.
Really, Leicester are a poor man's last years Man City. No team spirit, not gelled, arrogant, money hungry ect ect, I've said from the start of the season that Leicester will fail because you can't buy a success, atleast not in one transfer season. If that was true Man City would of won the league 3 or 4 years ago. Leeds are a hard working, talented (Robert Snodgrass, Becchio, Clayton, Howson, Nunez ect), gelled together team that care about the club (while Leciester players care about earning their next massive pay check). That is why Leeds were a bigger success last year and will be this year (1 points behind you with a game in hand). Talent is only a small part of success.
Max Gradel was pretty ****e for us yet he turned out to be a gem for you. I'm telling you that Kasper has been our best signing this summer.

Yeah keep telling yourself that, why did Beckford sacrifice Premier League football for Championship when he could of played in it after Leeds got promoted, because he wants to be rich before he retires, Everton and Leeds have payed him crap money. He left the Premier League for the large amount of money he can earn playing for you. That's what you get when you buy the league, uncommitted money hunters.

The best indication (that everyone seems to have overlooked) is not how many saves have been made or how many goals conceded. Sometimes goals are scored where the best keeper in the world would have had no chance at stopping it. Therefore, we count the number of mistakes each keeper has made. I count one for Lonergan, and he rectified it by saving a penalty. I know of one for Schmeichel where his temper tantrum got him sent off and ultimately cost you 2 points. I'm sure he'll have made some other howlers since the start of the season but some fantastic athletic saves and playing up for the cameras has you all delusional about his ability. He's by no means a terrible keeper, but he's only a bit above average at best. Lonergan is outstanding.

Lonergan doesn't have a poor temper or delusions of grandeur, he doesn't make stupid basic goalkeeping errors on a regular basis, and he doesn't get himself sent off. Schmeichel is a jumped up overpaid uncommitted joke who is riding on his dads success.

Having seen him a lot more (and seen he's keeping up his habit of being a spoilt baby riding on his dads success), I am significantly more qualified to comment on this matter but still you go on and on and on about it like we've actually LOST something. We've lost nothing, he's an arrogant scum bastard who alienated all the players by thinking he was better than them (probably still thinks he's better than your team) and we're glad to have shut of him.
