I happen to be a trained singer and I can confirm that alcohol does indeed dehydrate. No singer will take on a heavy singing schedule whilst drinking alcohol. Water....shed loads is the answer for singers. Just saying.......

No mate. Have done a few professional shows, but mostly amateur stuff. Was never able to do it full time as family and responsibility tend to put paid to auditioning whilst living on the bread line!!
