For me it isn't so much if he is or is not good enough, he sadly is best man for the job at this very moment in time. You have to be realistic about who would replace him? Sure there are better managers but would they want to join a team with no money to spend? Would they want to join a team with Bates as their chairman? Would that said manager see us as a better team than the one he was currently managing?
