I am unsure where I sit with the possibility of Gary Mac returning, I do find it strange that he had a better win percentage than McDermott and he was given far less time. Yes the Histon result was bad but if you remember that match it was an awful pitch and conditions. Again I am not saying he is right or wrong for the position, just bemused as to why he was so bad in some peoples eyes yet McD wasn't when he was clearly worse in all aspects.
League One expectation- Auto promotion..........we were 9th Championship expectation- midtable..........finished lower half. Simple way to judge a manager, but I'm a simple person!
After last time I don't want Gary Mac as head coach. If think we can get somebody better in, be it MacKay or Houghton.
Gary Mac was at the races on the 16th with Parkin my dad cellino and few others managed to get a bet on myself Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
billys statue "cellini a clown " and which mythical local consortioum had the bollocks to come forward ? I have nothing but respect for a man who put his cash in and believed in us, pray tell me were we would be now ? I tell you where either in liquidation or back in bates clutches, i guess some people are never happy !
Pretty sure McD had a win ratio with us of about 38%, that means gary mac's wasn't much better and was in a lower league. Its hardly believing in us, he has got us because of the potential we have financially. He wants to get us to prem because all of a sudden there is a huge asset he owns and he has also got to feed his huge ego by proving he is a "great" owner and it was Cagliari's fault that he couldn't get them any higher. Don't believe that he bought us out of the bottom of his heart because he felt sorry for us because it just isn't true.
But to realise all this financial potential he has to improve everything at the club, so it's a win win. The alternative is that he runs out of dough so it's risk is all his.
Might surprise some to know that Gary Mac is actually one of the best we have ever had win percentage wise 50% win ratio not 40% if Wiki is correct http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Leeds_United_A.F.C._managers
I think he deserves another chance he had BATES on his back remember whose behaviour resembled Pontius Pilate to save his own neck he sacked Gary blaming him for the demise by the way Matt its cracking flags at Bardsey today!
I also thought it was 40% Was shocked when I looked and read 50%, I only looked because I thought McD was nearer 32% I think he upped his ratio with a couple of wins towards the end of the season. Either way a near 12% better record for Gary mac over McD and McD had 5 extra games in charge, McD also has a -4 goal difference
Also worth bearing in mind that McAllister was sacked for a poor 5 game spell - McDermott managed to keep his job throughout a poor 3 month spell!
Was just looking back over results from Mid December and stats On Sat 21st December we went 8 games without a win On Tuesday 11th Feb we went 6 Games without a win On Tues 25th March we lost 5 games on the trot On Tuesday 11th Feb we won 1 game in 12 matches and that was against Millwall We got thrashed by 6 goals to Sheff W and we got hammered at home 1-5 by Bolton Keep in mind that those runs would all be FAR WORSE had we not beat Huddersfield 5-1 and that was a game where McD was not officially in charge
I am just surprised that with a season like that McD managed a win percentage of 38%. Wonder what his win percentage was taking last season only into account Edit 2013-14 = 32% league games only (excluding Huddersfield game)
