Maybe if the identity of the club was changed, they changed the badge, changed the stadium...oh hang on. Well maybe if they changed the strip to black and white stripes and ground shared with Newcastle.
I was thinking that. They were going on at the weekend about Spurs youth benefitting England and how they are developing the national team with the likes of Eric Dier and Delli Alli. It's great that they are getting playing time and they may not be getting that at other teams, indeed Spurs/ Southampton is as good a place as any for them to be but both have been bought in in the last year or so and there was a scramble by a number of Premiership teams to get Alli.
No-one who posts on here that supports SAFC will ever stop caring about them. You may stop going to the games, you might even stop posting on here or even not buy a Sunday paper when we lose, but............. Whose will be the first result you will look for on a Saturday wherever you are on this planet? Sorry. You can check out any time you want, but you can never leave. I hate our incompetance, our ineptitude, our amature attempts to get out of the clarts, but...... HA'WAY THE LADS!!!! x
I've stated on here in the past that if Harry Redknapp came I would pack it in. I've supported the lads for 55 years although don't get to matches these days for a variety of reasons, but as others have said I just can't ignore the club when they are playing, it's in the blood and there is nothing you can do about it, I've been married 45 years next month and our lass who has no interest in football still can't understand how us losing can completely ruin a weekend and if truth be known I don't understand it either. It is what it is I suppose.
We may be seen as a failure but it is not for the want of trying. Many a club has come unstuck with managerial appointments, without Fergie maybe ManU could be in our position. Between Busby and him they appointed top managers, all young(ish) with good records but they did not produce much. It took Fergie five years and a huge slice of luck to find his team and even he was borderline popular with board and fans until an FA cup win took the heat off him. The signing of Cantona was his catalyst. Additionally he inherited a youth development that was well established years before he came and he benefited from that but the move from building to buying teams has coloured the definition of success.
Sometimes, as you say, it's just a question of events colliding to produce the right answer ..... no one really knows if a manager or player will 'fit'.
Hmmmmmm! Watching ****e week in week out, with football being played by egotistical millionaires whilst seeing the game being torn apart with gambling, gangsters and dodgy football club owners. Bollox!! We've been there a while and I still cannot ever let go. Supporting SAFC is akin to being on the greatest theme park ride ever.............although the ride we are on ATM seems to be going downwards for too long and a touch scary....... KTF always
