I am keeping my fingers crossed he'll come good. United need players of his quality.

Hes been here a less than a season tbh.

Its probably more to do with people expecting immediate results these days. Like many foreigners, we may see him at his best in the second season.

Hes apparently doing alot of gym work which will benefit him next season.

Plus Young does a much better job when ye don't have the ball, Young has played well in that position.

ATM the moyes signings are the best players Mata and Fellaini, who'd have thought it, well Mata is not really a surprise tbh, the guy is quality

Tbf you cant fault Di Maria's workrate. There's no airs and graces about him. He tracks back, but equally importantly you see him chasing and harrying every time he loses the ball. I've seen him do that against league 1 and championship sides as much as against PL teams.

He is defensively a non plus mate, well he has been for you lot, his wandering has led directly to goals conceded and games lost. In the modern game few teams can afford a luxury of a player who only attacks. The team are playing well.
If it ain't broken dont fix it imo.

I agree with the last statement but not sure about the rest. Do I need Di Maria to be good defensively. Not really. Do I want him to chase back or bust a gut to win the ball back if he loses it. Yep.

Same for Mata which is all you want really.

It has been shown that Di Maria is not the man to take an averagely performing team on. He looks top class in a side like Madrid, full of quality and can afford that sort of luxury, but you lot have needed all hands at the pumps. So yes he has to work his arse off without the ball. He hasn't.
Until you get a decent defence, Jones Evans and Smalling will win you no titles(Without fergie :D), when you address those issues then Di Maria can go rampaging.

United shouldn't sell him and I don't think they will until after next season. Di Maria will come good as he is quality.

United are expected not only to win titles but also to have the top players in the world. When a top player becomes available I would expect united to go for him. This has been the issue with SAF and the GGs in the last 5-6 years. <ok>

Go on then, list off your purchased worldies? Ronaldo was not a worldly when you bought him, and when his potential was realised he was off to Spain.

Di maria is the first since worldly (priced player) he hasn't been worldie performance wise at all,.. RvP and before him..?

You really should try seeing the whole picture. Smiths said this for a while now and refers to United since Fergie.

So players like Mata, Di Maria and even Falcao are the type hes meaning.

Always remember. Context is very important. Otherwise 4 years later so fool brings up some select quotes and has a meltdown of gigantic proportions <whistle>

This one's for UIR. Di Maria has the second highest assists in the PL with 10. Last season only two players managed more than 10 assists in the PL.

Surely the team performance is more important than getting gslacticos. Although galacticos help to sell the shirts.

Of course. Though having quality around the side is of benefit to the team.

United bought Di Maria and Mata but also Blind and Herrera. We promoted youngsters as well as buying them.

To be a top team you need a mix of youth, world class quality and grafters. We are well on our way in all areas.

That's why that fool is called ******ed <ok>

The GGs didn't give funds to SAF in the last 5/6 years of his reign to bring in top players. Stingy and money grabbing. Now that their assets are at risk they realise that United cannot afford NOT to bring these players when they become available.

Shows how spurious this whole assist nonsense is.
It was a dreadful cross, the only assist was Rooney's own excellent control.

Valencias first time Bebe-esq cross in the second half was dreadful.

Di Maria's slightly behind cross gave Rooney something to work with at least.
