Not getting carried away with a good win against one of the bottom 3. We bossed the first 25 mins, but only scored 1 and good as Ba was, he didn't score . Lamps was invisible, he + Ramires = trouble, Mikel should have started with Rammy. All our threat came from the attacking mids or great vision from Luiz, who had a top game. Ivan also in great form as is JT.
Norwich were in it from 1/2 time as we lost the early control. When are we going to see the problem and get a mid field controller , before any more defenders, strikers, goalkeepers, wonder kids, left backs, right fronts or even Y fronts !!!!
Jose was brave to make the subs and it payed off. Better display, but a long way from where we should be.

That is what I was fearing after the first 5 minutes with Chelsea being so rampant, especially Ba. Perhaps a little fortunate to not concede another but it sure was good to see us playing to win, against all the odds <ok>

A good and vital win, but I'm still worried that we're not carving out enough good chances based on the quality we have in our side. Our first goal was a brilliant finish by Oscar. The second was from a counter and required two big mistakes from Norwich which you wouldn't expect them to make. Our third again was a very good strike from Willian. The quality in the first and third goals was more the finishing, rather than them being clear goal scoring opportunities. If we're to get there, Mourinho really needs to find his best team as I still think he's at the trial and error stage. I would though like to keep faith in Mourinho with the role and importance he has placed on Oscar. I feel that in about three years, he will be considerably better than Mata is at this moment in time.

It was a pretty decent performance. I'll be honest, as soon as they scored i could only see it finishing 1-1 so credit to Mourinho on the subs.

I love seeing the little one touch passes that Oscar and Mata play to each other, so good to watch.

A system i'd love to see us try is

    Cech
    Iva - Terry - Luiz
    Ramires - Mikel - Lamps/Essien - LWB
    Mata - Oscar
    ST

Ramires and the left wing back offering the width and Mata and Oscar given free roles.

Purely just fantasy i know but on paper it looks really good. I do think that Jose might use three at the back on quite a few occasions this season, especially if chasing a result, like at the weekend.

It did work well against Norwich though once or twice we were as open as a politicians mouth.. Could go very pear shaped against better attack.
