I think people criticising are too harsh and seem to forget we've spent £3m and signed 5 current internationals plus a former England international this window.
I doubt we'll see anymore business tonight at our end. The signings we've made have been good, however without a proven striker at this level there will be a lot of impetus on Gedo to perform. Let's just hope he is as good as people seem to think he is.
Think we're stronger coming out of the window than going in. That said, I'd have liked to see a proven championship striker.
Not sure about Gedo another complete unknown, but am glad Elmo is back and even if don't go up we hopefully be stronger next season.
Hull City ‏@hullcityafclive Reliable sources telling us #hcafc bidding/talking to 2 strikers. One believed to be Simon Church at Reading and other Simeon Jackson. Anyone know how reliable they are? Followed by Matt Dean, ***an, Tigers Player etc.
Would be happy with either of those! Church is a good 6 footer who will provide for late runners and score 1 in 5 - more where there is a good supply of crosses. I'd prefer Jackson though who has pace, knows where the goal is and without Elmo and Aluko, that is what we have been most notably lacking.
All transfers are gambles. They might be well renowned in English football, but they might flop massively, or they might be unknown and make a name for themselves. Fingers crossed it's the latter.
F*ck me some people could win the lottery and still moan about it. I think Bruce/Allan's have done very well this window We've got Stockdale, Brady, Mayler, and Elmor back and two international players and only spent 3m We all would of liked a proven striker coming in but there's still the emergency loans were we can get one without shelling out stupid money, leaving more money to recruit for next season in the prem. In Bruce, Allams we trust, UTT And kept our best players
City can't be held to ransom by these money grabbing twats, so in that respect we've done well to bring in those players who've all done well for us. I'm happy with our team so far. But there's always a way to improve. Anyway, the loan window opens soon. Let's see what Bruce does in there.
We had Stockdale, Brady, Myler and Elmo in the first half of the season so we haven't 'improved' defence or midfield- just secured the players we already had. Our problem has been a finisher or a goalscorer. Did we sign a proven one who will turn draws into wins, and who will get on the end of all those crosses? Speak up....
yeah? pfft! why bother with next season? how about the season after or the season after? no hurry! I guess apathy comes as standard with this city!
Personally, I'd have spent £1.5m on Ebanks-Blake ahead of Meyler, we really didn't need a central midfield player, while we're ****ing desperate for a striker. Opinions eh?
I am pretty delighted with the window. Do we have a 30 grand a week striker? No. But that is a good thing. I would much rather spend 5 years in or around the play offs building up a team than go up like we did last time and mortgage the future of the club. We got the Allams this time... next time, I think we could go the way of Pompey.
But how many chances would they get with Rossie, Dawson, Carney, Stewart or ollie supplying them, not one can beat the first man with a cross.
