I remain optimistic until proven incorrect, but I think most of us would have loved no change as the safest bet.
Can't hear that song with the line 'Stay close to me' without filling up. It was played at the first game when we first met Markus. We wanted to stay close, ML, but we are being cut adrift (in stages).
I don't think we'll see any significant changes, or cash injections. We might see some development and improvement of the stadium but that's it. We've been bought by someone who isn't even in the same league as the mega-rich owners currently around the various leagues...which doesn't bother me in the slightest. We've had fairly conservative owners, more of the same will do me.
I have supported Saints from afar in Hong Kong for many years. In all this time the positive things to have come from mainland China have been few and far between, whilst their negative actions increase daily. There will be a very specific reason why Gao has bought into our club, it will not be one that turns out to be good for us. Be afraid, be very afraid...
Why oh why is the world like this? One day we are sailing along happy as can be in the EU then the tossers vote for Brexit. Then there we are sailing along happy as can be with Kat Leibherr and then she flogs us to the ****ing Chinese. The world has gone absolutely ****ing mad and I am glad I am not going to be a part of the miserable ****ing future this country is facing. The capitalist monetarists with their ****ing market economy have ruined everything worth having. My epitaph will read; "I am glad to be gone. The modern world? You're welcome to it".
And there was me thinking it would read: "Here lies Godders: miserable bugger who hated the fact he was admired by many. At leat the 'lovely one' is free"
Well I've been in mainland China for two weeks now,and I can give you two positives.1,they are ****ing loud and 2, they definately aren't gonna let me take any money out of their country!
Oh dear. I resolve never to post again after I have had five double measures of scotch, argued with half of the people in the pub and come home in a very grumpy mood.
I thought you lived in Pompey ... Hope you are well , and that your arm is better , it's been a while
The clue's in the name Girv! The arm was a relegation night injury, so long healed. Worried about the Chinese takeover. Interesting timing by Gao, China banned investment in foreign sports clubs on Friday.
Lol . I know you live there Interesting about the take over , guess time will tell . Have to be honest , I have lost a lot of interest in football , it's a cash cow now . Take care .
Chinese spending power in European football is set to be reined in as the country's government takes action to prevent money leaving the mainland and the Midlands could be particularly affected, with Aston Villa, Birmingham, West Bromwich Albion and Wolves all under Chinese ownership. (Birmingham Mail) And obviously us....
Also build in the potential effect on China and their economy of further escalation of the North Korean crisis. Holding breath
