How do we stop Chelsea?

We need to go for them. Sitting back has been our undoing against so many teams this season. The marking needs to be much better too. Against Swansea we were making the same mistakes we were making in the 3 or 4 games before the Bournemouth game.

 

Ian Holloway said similar while he had Blackpool in the premier league. Look where they are now.

 

I don't think we can stop them - let's just take it as a bonus game and, if we can nick a point everyone's happy.

They were my bet for the title before the season - nothing's changed strangely. No European competitions. But they're still excellent. Set up for a draw and the likelihood is that they'll beat us. Set up to try to win and the likelihood is that they'll beat us - but at least we can try to enjoy it!

 

We need to get at them from the start, get the crowd right behind us, and then we can win this game..

 

The solution is simple, the execution is not.

Sunderland defender Papy Djilobodji claims that the Black Cats can pull off a surprise on Wednesday night and defeat Chelsea at the Stadium of Light.

Djilobodji was signed by the Blues last summer before joining David Moyes' side in an £8million move during the summer.

Despite Chelsea sitting on top of the table with Diego Costa in top form with 12 goals, Djillbodji feels the Wearside club can cause an upset.

He said: "I have good memories of being at Chelsea.

"It's a game that we can win. They are having a good season and I know it will be difficult against Diego Costa."

Play your best team, play your best, keep it tight and hope they have an off day.

You're in the position most teams would be against Chelsea right now. At their best they'll blow you away, at an average level they should win anyway but if they drop below par then there's no reason you can't take points. This kind of game isn't the make or break of your season, it's a possibility for bonus points.
