I can't be arsed with reading through this borefest so can someone tell me if UIR bothered to list and compared the inherited squads...?
Suspected as much. Whether attempting to have a genuine discussion or not*, UIR doesn't like cooperating when it doesn't fit in with his argument * clearly not since he's flagged this thread up on the Man Utd board; look at me, look at me!
Someone else did. Plenty of experienced title challengers and recent league cup winners in the side. Its clear on here how highly many of the posters on here value the league cup too. Van gaal inherited plenty of premier league winners. Lostnloads of experience at once though. Literally all our leaders in one swoop. Hes also not had access to his full squad yet.
some of the early replies warranted it. Plus its a fair discussion point. Some things take time. Uniteds problem is obvious and van gaal addessed it, not for the first time, today. Our passing isnt good enough yet. Even under fergie in his later years we were poor in possession. Fergie got enough out of the attackers and moyes didnt so under moyes we were undone. What had worked under Fergie no longer worked and moyes couldn't change it. Van gaal will though. You can already see players trying to pass forward where before a simple pass back was prederred. The players are trying to pass under pressure tooo. Poorly mind. Were pressing loads more. Weve not done this for years and the energy levels are not there yet. Soon playera will be comfortable passing under pressure and we will have the energy levels to press quicker and more consistently. The signs are there.
Despite me saying I couldn't be arsed, I've just scanned through the whole thread and no one as compared the squads Simple question; which job would a neutral prefer to get at the time of appointment? Rodgers' position at Liverpool in the summer of 2012 or LVG's position at Man Utd the summer just gone? One consistently challenge for the title having winners medals in the squad to prove it and is regarding as one of the (if not the) wealthiest clubs in the world. The other as won a single League Cup in the last eight years after being on the verge of administration! You can through Moyes into the equation if you wish but we'll better that with a Hodgson
I've not watched you apart from the game against us in the International Cup thingy in the summer so I'll take your word for it.
You really do find it hard to understand things don`t you. Shaw is not "un-fit" unless you mean injured like at the moment, that is a statement that has never ben hinted at. What has been said is that he isn`t fit enough to play the wingback role, a very different thing altogether. To be honest the only players i can think of in our team who are "fit" enpugh to play that role are Valencia and Young (not saying they are good at it, just fit enough) and from what i have seen of your team (not counting the new boys because i haven`t seen enough of them) your only players fit enough for this are Henderson, Enrique and possibly Flannagan (again, not suggesting they would be any good at it, just fit enough). If Shaw is our second choice left back, who is our first?
sorted then, so with LVG "addressing" the problem combined with utd having what you would describe as a part time season due to no euro comp utd must be odds on for the title? PS forgot about LVG's deliberate strategy of going out of the unimportant early, thereby now making the title do certain that bookies will no longer take bets on you winning the title this season. This must be true if you dont believe me put this months rent on it to try me out.
