how the might have fallen... attempting to justify the pile of poo served up by van gaal by going for rodgers whos not actually achieved anything yet
Hodgeson also did crap his first season in charge of us! AVB did bad his first (and all subsequent seasons) in charge of anyone! Being crap to start with does not guarantee success!
Everyone agrees the important thing that made the poor results tolerable was the clear idea that a longer term plan was in mind Everyone agrees no one has a clue what kind of football Van Gaal is even attempting to play
highly constrained and controlled obviously. he wants guys to go exactly what he says. that's what he keeps saying. after that there is no describable pattern thus far ( other than dog turd)
Massive game for Man Utd on Saturday #lastchancesaloon
Liverpool were a young team at the start of Rodgers reign, he tried to avoid the older players for the most part and head for youth. It was clear to see with the way we player, always caused problems but ended with disappointment. His loaning of Carroll without bringing anyone in was a bad point in him, we lacked any fire power in his first season. After the 2-1 defeat to Man U at home was a low point, we had Jonjo sent off, had a bare squad and it was inevitable we would not finish anywhere (bare in mind this was in September). We were desperate to sign players in January with such a thin squad which was also competing in the Europa League. We had to sign rejected players from their parent club but still had potential. Coutinho and Sturrudge were given the last chance to prove their worth, and they have done so greatly. We ended the season strongly but when we had nothing to play for we complained it proved nothing, last season they proved us wrong and have been moving forward ever since. Man U aren't really the same as Moyes never really went with youth, he opted for players who didn't want to play under him which resulted in lacklustre performances.
Rodgers had a vision that the owners really believed in. They allowed him the time and invested into make it work. We are now seeing results. I dont see that vision at United. I dont see that support or investment. It all looks very messy from the outside. At United it is not all about Van Gaal. Its the way the club is being run as a whole. The vision to football, style, transfers, youth development etc etc. United need to review the whole structure and build a solid long term plan. Right now its like this: Sign a manager, spend big on who evers available and see what that manager can do. Very similar to QPR with Mark Hughes. It just lacks attention to detail. Fergie controlled every thing at that club. Maybe to much. Now he is gone.
rodgers, who cares........... this is i must say about laughing at uir trying to justify awful performance thus far.. who cares what lfc have done... utd are hilarious.
I really cannot believe that this pathetic attempt at distraction by uir has lasted this list long although to be fair it has been a good opportunity to laugh at tobes as well as uir.
Ah yes hes fallen mighty far. 3 games in and its over. Its always best to judge things after a short space of time.
Well hes currently shipping out loads of players and has brough quite a few in. Hes basically said more will come by monday so to me hes clearing out those not upto his standard's and bringing in those who can. Hes also openly stated what his plans are. Hes also said it takes time at first due to the overhaul in every aspect of tge club. Van gaal is like fergie. The boss. He looks ahead and then further ahead again. He will shape the club how he wants. The ownera and him may clash evetually but meh, they didnt clash with fergie.
Merge the above lol. Anyway laugh all you like as the replies tell me and anyone else all they need to know. Its easy to see the more honest of you and the more knowledgeable. Obviously rivalry and banter play apart but even then, the sensible ones understood the point i was making.
Seems strange that you chose to compare your foreign imported manager with a past record of success at overseas clubs with a near novice manager. The purile ****e poured out by the English hacks about Mourinho(another foreigner)learning everything he knows from Van Gargle would have made a better comparison, but Maureen pisses all over the Dutch feller as you know.
Desperation that you are in need of support from your board UIR. http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...re-to-be-flabbergasted!?p=6979625#post6979625
Yes i compared a foreign manager in his first few weeks in england for the first time with a young manager in his first big job. Reasonably comparable situations. Both new to it.
