Fair play to them.Thought they had dropped one appointing Pardew as manager but they are playing really well. Ba looked good at west Ham last season so no surprise he is doing so well now. However lets see when they play the big boys, will it be another case of ,like spurs, rolling over for them? I still back us to finish above them and for carroll to score the winner in both games this season.

I don't think you can judge anything after 10 games (apart from Hodgon's reign as Liverpool manager). Look at Burnley, Hull, Blackpool all were flying high, then teams worked them out, squad depth and playing against better teams meant they slowly slipped down to where most would expect them to be.

Judge a team after 19 games when they have played everyone in the league once, then you can make a much better judgement.

I agree. This time last year people were talking about Blackpool getting into Europe and possibly struggling to keep Holloway at Blookpool - things can change very quickly in the EPL

I've got Ryan Taylor and Cabaye as well! Only need 3 points to beat Hash in the head-to-head...

    3-1. Demba Ba hat-trick.

Newcastle maybe playing well at the moment but who have they actaully played so far? Only real test they've had are Arsenal, at home and who were in disarry following Fiberglass leaving and Nasri wanting to leave, and Spuds again at home, a game they perhaps should have lost.
They've been able to get a run of form going by beating the clubs expected to finish below and around them and by playing their big games at St.James which is an intimdating place to go.
They have to play City, Chavski and Manure in the coming weeks and this will test their form

We've got 4 points against Tottenham and Stoke, how many did you get?
We probably won't be anywhere near top 4 by the end of the season but it's been pretty good considering we haven't been playing Marveaux, Ben Arfa & Santon. Who look like 3 of our best players

And Spurs at home and a Derby game away and we have just beaten Stoke at the Britannia who have lost once there in the PL in 2011 <ok> The PL is meant to be the toughest league in the world yet we get no credit for being unbeaten and 3rd over a quater of the way into the season.

Lads, can I ask a serious question to those mentioning we have city and united away in the next few weeks. If you were to lose away to them two which is probable, would you say you aren't the real deal regardless of your other results which is the same as what your going to be saying to us come 2 weeks time when we've more than likely lost 2 games away to the best 2 teams in england.

You Can only beat the teams you play against, a draw against Arsenal is a good result as is a draw against spurs (4-0? ;)) Stoke at the Britannia is always a tough game and no one expects us to beat Man u, city or chelsea anyway so that doesn't really matter

I find myself wondering the same thing. Will people really be sitting there saying "ah yes, they were **** all along" if we lose at Old Trafford and the Etihaad?
