Some people still ain't learned from our last farcical Premier League sojourn. Thankfully it seems like the only man who matters has... Fat Thony himself
This is simple but I completely agree with it. He's the kind of player who will adapt to whatever level he's at. I recon he'll score as regularly as he did last season.
Austin appears happy, is the right age, the right sort and a proven top level replacement would cost at least double this, got to be a no.
If we just chew up and spit out our better performing players and better characters then we undoubtedly should only expect mercenaries to come in. No, because he's a good player. No, because he's a hard working team player. No, because we'd never replace him for the value we'd receive. Lastly, no, because the clubs mentioned will be right in the same mix that we're in and if Austin made the difference that condemned us to relegation then it could just possibly be the worst decision we've ever made as a club. Basically, no. Keep him!
Austin has to be ready to earn a starting spot alongside much greater competition than was previously the case (not difficult as there was none last term). It is distinctly possible that he will not be first choice at the start of the season whereas he might have that guarantee at Leicester. That's the only reason I can think of for these rumours but TBH I'm confident he will still be an R when we kick off.
