"No doubt Bruce has had more to spend than those two but clearly we need a striker to achieve anything from this season and if we don't get one this month then clearly he hasn't had enough support." Your words, not mine. What you say is that by Bruce not signing a striker then he hasn't had enough support, so that must mean it is the Allams fault......I am not making anything up here, you are.
I meant: "just wish we had more fans with the level headed views we and a handful of others have." I'm sure now you'll realise how smug and silly that sounds!
Not really. It may come across as smug but i was just trying to make the point that at this time we need a sense of perspective and not throwing our weight against the owners who have supported us. Not saying what i suggest is right but a serious debate is good, a silly debate is a waste of time.
So Bruce is choosing not to spend the war chest, just like Barmby last year and Pearson before him. Yes that'll be it. How unlucky it is that we keep getting managers who prefer not to sign strikers!
Not saying that, if there isn't a striker out there to get who is in our budget and would do a job that is neither Bruce's fault OR the Allams fault. Your automatically presuming that if we don't sign a striker than the Allams haven't dished out when it may be that Bruce couldn't find one to sign. We will sign a striker if there is one out there, Bruce has already come out and praised the Allams for backing him what more evidence do you need? And your sarcasm about having managers who don't want to sign strikers is actually true, Barmby refused to sign Sharp in Jan and that may of cost us promotion and cost him his job.
Seriously though, if we do go up we'll get the same ****e from the meffs who're complaining this weekend, ie "why haven't we signed anyone yet?", "we're being outplayed all the time, Bruce out!" and all that cobblers. We'll no doubt buy some absolute ****e for dodgy money and put the club at risk financially to appease the whingers, like QPR. We'll no doubt struggle, and the year we'll be there will be miserable, just like our last premier league season. We'll also have the influx of the tossers just there to watch Livepool, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc. And they can **** off!
I think a big problem for City is the failure of Nick The Kraut to deliver. How can SB justify going to the Allams for another £3m plus for a quality striker when he has blown a considerable amount on the German?
The money was there to sign a striker in Jan and Barmby didn't because he said there wasn't one out there. Sharp wanted to stay in Yorkshire if he could, and ended up moving to Southampton. Not saying if we had bought him we would of gone up but i am confident that because we didn't and the subsequent comments Nick made all helped to his downfall.
Looking back it was a dodgy decision. If he had really hit it off we'd be saying it was an astute purcahse. Although, it would probably mask the deficiencies in other places. There's other parts of the team that needs tweeking.
I do agree with that. Any signing can be a flop. I mean Meyler was fantastic when he was on loan but since we paid money for him he has looked off the pace a little. Funny.
Two of Nicks best friends who post on here. given plenty of inside information and in black and white on a thread premier tiger stated there is money available for a forward but he doesnt want to buy one as he believes the forwards we have are good enough. Bang to rights-end of- FACT.
Bollocks. Nick's transfer budget was zero, the Allam's wanted Sharp, Nick wanted to sign his own targets, but wasn't able to. Ironically, one of the players Nick agreed to bringing was Fraizer Campbell.
It is ironic as FC clearly never wanted to come here!! Im sure percy will have bookmarked the thread where Premier said it. Its all old news but if the allams wanted Sharp and nick didnt you have to question who knows **** all about football.
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/120936-Adam-Pearson-confirms-no-ins-or-outs-today Your post on the thread "There was money available, we made a substantial bid for a player which was unfortunately rejected, Nick just didn't feel the need to spend that money, it was his choice. Thoughts??
