They were talking about wages for a loan move, so there wouldn't be much if anything to pay up front given the wages we'd be contributing.
yes a loan until the end of the season. a premier quality striker similar to what Jason Roberts did for Reading last season.
I agree but who? Most clubs wants fees for their strikers now, and i can see where your coming from, but we have supposedly spent five times that 40k on wages on Brady and Meyler. Personally i would rather have re loaned them and got a striker, but that may not have being a possibility.
That couldn't happen though as Sunderland had threatened recalling Meyler and Watford bid £2m for Brady - we could have ended up minus those 2, Aluko and Elmo!! Then we'd have been ****ed!
I thought that moron who asked about McLean and thought we should give Watford a bell, was so ****ing dim, he was quite funny. We should be used to this by now, it's hardly a new thing, idiots have calling Blunderside and talking bollocks for as long as I can remember.
It pretty much used up our budget for a striker by having to pay out for Brady, Watford have been on fire since we beat them. I'd love to have a striker like Vydra in our side, he looks a great player. They're only a point behind now, I can see them taking an automatic spot, they play the same system as us, but they score a lot of goals.
Today's show was an exception though, idiots of the greatest calibre were all aired. The McLean caller is the best I've heard in years - dozy ****er!
I'm banned from watching Soccer Saturday because i keep swearing and threatening to throw something at the telly when they start patronising or criticising Championship teams just for the sheer hell of it.. It's all hotting up quite nicely now though - the run in is going to be really exciting. Good luck for the rest of the season
What planet are you on, we aren't getting relegated to league one, we are fighting to get into the prem. If we did get relegated and we hadn't spent a bit of money to try and stay up then there would be issues. You are creating a totally imaginary scenario to back up your argument.
This is just ludicrous. You are wrong, we have spent £3.5 mill on two players already. I am not denying that we need a striker and we can't score goals. But the Allams have not come out and said that THEY AREN'T willing to spend, they may want to sign DJ Campbell for £1.5- 2mill. If you can find an interview EVERY WEEK like you say about them wanting to spend money be my guest. That quote is from when Barmby was sacked over 8 months ago. Clearly there isn't, Fraizer Campbell- didnt want to come to Hull, DJ Campbell appears to not want to come to Hull, not for money reasons, more because its Hull. I am not sick of failure i just rejoice in having a team to support and would love to see them get into the prem, but not if it causes us teh finacial struggle we have only just sorted out.
I liked the text caller who called for the Allams to Splash the Cash.....LMFHO!!! We have already spent more in this window than any other Championship club. Noticeable how most of those phoning in hadn't gone to the game. The only one that talked any sense was the one that said all the criticism was very harsh and unfair. Christ it's only a handful of games ago we destroyed TWS, anyone remember that? Interesting points coming out of the post match. Looks like DJ is not coming, Campbell was known NOT to be coming 6 weeks ago. One final thing.....anyone criticising the Allams for not spending enough money is a ****, pure and simple.
Reading were VERY shrewd last season, the two strikers they brought in basically got them promoted, but that ship sailed long ago and we, or should I say the regime at the time, missed the boat and probably the easiest opportunity to get up into the PL. Whether it was Barmby, Pappa Smurf or a combo of the two that didn't fancy Le Fondre and Roberts we'll probably never know, but what a ****ing dire decision!
Here we go again, idiots coming out the woodwork saying that the owners say one thing and do another, using barmby as an example. The money was available for sharp. He said "we don't need him". He was wrong, that particular **** up (one of many) probably cost us a place in the play offs as everyone knew we needed sharp and he wanted to come. Upon realising he'd ****ed up, he then then tried to justify his **** up by saying "there was no money", which anyone with half a brain knows was pure drivel - I'm sure even his best mate OLM will confirm that! It's a completely different situation this year. We've spent a fair whack yet we're still looking for more and if no one comes in it won't be for lack of trying or lack of finance. It makes absolutely no sense on any level whatsoever for the owners not to do all that they can do to get us promoted subject to not risking financial devastation.
Well said Diddy, Barmby was to blame for that **** up and tried to cover it up, his naivety but that ship has sailed. We may yet sign a gem who scores a shed load of goals and we go up, if we don't we will of done all we can and next year we go again! Negativity eats away and breeds negativity, the same can be said for positivity. The fans breed positivity, the team may, maybe we need to get behind the players we have and they may start to perform. As a group of fans we need to question our own performance.
Good post rich. Some people forget the Allams have spent 4 times the Amount they offered Nick Barmby last season. So to bring up that is just ****ing stupid ... Plenty of time till the window closes anyway ...
