How broken are we?

I would love us to win a trophy but tbh I have really fond memories of 1977-1980...of 1987.... 1995...2005-2007... 2009-2012 and 2015-2019.
We won no trophies in those years but saw wonderful football or got some great memories and saw some top players.

Of course I loved 81,82,84,91 and 08 when we won tropies but I have to be honest ... 1999 holds no great memories even though we won a cup...am glad we did but the truth is that the football that season was truely ****.

We have won 17 trophies in our 139 years.
1 in the 1900s
1 in the 1920s
1 in the 1950s
5 in the 1960s
3 in the 1970s
3 in the 1980s
2 in the 1990s
1 in the 2000s

I can't judge my enjoyment on whether we win trophies.

This ain't a dig at anyone...just how I see things.

Bloomin' eck! I've seen 15 of those 17! Not all live, a couple on tv but most of them. You haven't included the Charity Shields which were quite big back in the '60's which adds on another 3 for '60's & 7 overall. I used to love it when we won cups and I sort of miss it, but I fully understand your point Colin. Trophies are a great bonus but entertaining footie is vital to keep the soul happy! Still, wouldn't mind another cup though before I go <laugh>.

I’m a Spurs fan so it obviously doesn’t depend on trophies

but I don’t belittle them in order to digest the reality that our owners have zero interest in them

No but you do belittle 99.9% of football if you say it's all about trophies. It's all about the game your American style philosophy has the reverse effect. History shows quite clearly how all of this works and all the huffing and puffing makes no difference to the reality.
Enic are not interested in trophies? Trophies increase revenue, they are more interested than you and I put together.

But yes we all like to win trophies so we can agree on that it's just about degrees.
