BBC4 currently showing an episode of Top of the Pops from 1983 featuring Bananarama <cheers>

Does this not bring back happy memories for us men of a certain age :1980_boogie_down:

Kilmarnock's goalie, Jamie McDonald, said he was "shocked" at being dropped in favour of teenage loanee Woodman from Newcastle, not surprising since he has often been Killie's best player. I assume Woodman is the son of pardew's mate Andy Woodman who was the goalkeeping coach at St. James' Park.

Russell Slade has signed Yakubu for Coventry today <laugh>

The bit I found funny is the BBC claiming Yakubu is 34 <laugh><laugh><laugh>

He was in his thirties when he signed for Portsmouth 15 years ago!

Nigerian could come good - teenage prodigy Kanu looks a good player.

Hand on my heart this is a true story. We were in a box at charlton when we played Portsmouth at home. We were with his agent (female, don't know her name) as she represented amdy Faye, and funnily enough he had a stormer against us.

Anyway, she was the face of an agency who represented a lot of Africans and French/Africans. Even she was questioning the legitimacy of yakubu. I think he had just transfered away from Pompey after a loan. Pretty certain our score with Pompey was 1-1.

A sad story today in the Mail about a Charlton fan called Ian Oxley, who died virtually penniless leaving his student daughter to cover his £3,000 funeral costs.

Charlton fans have set up a donation page on just giving to help raise the money.

See @cabbles14 if you are interested in helping.

If she was a smack injecting, white lightning imbibing chain smoker on benefits she would get it all paid for, but a young girl studying to be a nurse whilst doing a voluntary placement doesn't get any help. What a strange country we live in. Will donate when I get a chance.

This Ronald Coyne bloke. Is all he done burn a £20 note infront of a homeless man? Because I'm pretty certain, whilst it's pathetic, not worthy of a petition. People have done so many stupid things in their younger years which they regret. Damn I can name a fair few, as probably you can.

It looks like he wasn't racially abusive or committed GBH on the bloke. This is mere media hype as he's a Cambridge student. There's been plenty of instances where homeless people have been targeted, specifically with the sole intention of doing actual harm.

Whilst I don't personally condone the behaviour, he's stupid, it's not petition worthy!

Would be great if he was kicked out of cambridge. In reality - he'll get to sodomise an extra altar boy.

Deserves all he gets IMO. Actions carry consequences, and he has to learn a harsh lesson.

I fear what he will grow up to be without a smack of reality.

Toffs like him do what they want and always get away with it. Vigilante justice is usually the best way for these people.

Exactly. The kind of guy who would set on a homeless person in a few years. Sense of entitlement and no regard for humanity.

    It's not a Class issue.

About 10 years ago I was chatting to Polly Toynbee about benefit cuts, and I told her of an anecdote a Labour MP had told me about a constituent who had used a crisis loan for food to buy the latest pair of trainers. Her exact reply to me was "that sounds very unlikely to me " because it didn't fit in with her narrative.

Entitlement cuts across all social classes in my experienxe

It's exactly a class issue. Would he do that in front of a working class man? He thought he was better than the individual and tried to assert that in a degrading manner.

It's not too dissimilar to England supporters abroad who were taunting refugees at the last Euro's,
so I'd agree with this point.

The bloke wasn't working class - he doesn't work- he begs for a living.

That's an insult to working class people
