The bloke from cercle Brugge has been at the Club all week. But relax he is taking his Coaching badges he is not taking over as our Coach.
If I was going to send a card to anyone at Charlton it would be Steve Avory begging him not to leave.
He will also be checking out the bed springs at the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath, where we house all of our temporary managers. He is reserving the Bob Peeters Suite, and will be dining in the Jose Riga lounge, before relaxing in the Guy Luzon spa. They are naming an ash tray after Karel Fraeye.
If anyone is interested in that sort of thing the new irrigation system at Sparrows Lane looks the bees' knees. Recycles the water and makes the complex self-sufficient. Worth a look on the OS.
Another example of pathetic, warped priorities. No manager. Kids in the team. But a pukka set of sprinklers .
A big weekend for fighting - did anyone watch the boxing/UFC? A story that has perhaps gone slightly under the radar is Roy Jones Jr. The world of boxing needs to unite in getting him to stop. He's got dual Russian citizenship so can get a license to box over there now, but it's a shame to see the former pound for pound champion have to make ends meet by being pummelled by a Welsh bum.
Boxing should also stop the proposed Benn v Eubank fight .... they are both too old for this 5hit and one is going to get badly hurt! What gets me is the number of people who say, no that shouldn't happen then in their next breath say ... "I'd watch it though"
I'm still hopeful Been-Eubank is just two old foes looking for some publicity. In Eubanks case to get his son a bit more exposure before his impressive win against Spike O'sullivan.
i enjoyed the boxing. if i'd have known the undercard was so good i'd have gone. felt for dillian whyte - he isnt a bad fighter, but the plan is for AJ to become champ. if he had won it'd have made a lot people poorer (agents etc). was good to see AJ stretched though, hopefully they'll start putting him in with boxers instead of bouncers now. the chris eubank fight was good. just wish he'd leave the old man at home as it takes some of the shine off of him. weird question - did anyone catch or know what his opponents entrance music was?
Sorry can't help you with that mate - was in a crowded house and fought my way to the front during the first round. If you have a link to the entrance can give it a go?
Mourinho watched Brighton v Middlesboro today. His agent said "He will not be attending any high-profile games because he wants to discourage any speculation about his future." If I were him I would have a bit of fun attending every Man Utd match, home and away.
Robbie Ellliott played his ninth straight game for Newcastle today. He is doing OK. He will always let in one or two because of his lack of height, but he seems to have overcome his old weakness with shots from distance. Better contact lenses or better coaching?
That is unfair. Not for "dorks", but for children. I started this thread for bits of football trivia not worth their own thread. As posters seem to (strangely) enjoy discussing pop music, TV and movies on this football forum, could we at least have a separate "entertainment" thread? I think we all agree there is no danger of confusing what our club is currently serving up as "entertainment".
The trouble is that at present the football at Charlton is a disaster area, and any conversation about it goes back to the madness of King Roland or the incompetence of his CEO. It's just not possible to have a normal football discussion of Charlton-related topics without feeling either a) Rage, or b) Apathy. Unless Ackers or someone else finds a consortium to take our club over, we are doooooooooooooooooomed. And so there is this diversion.
