Project fear from the Remoaners FHB ….. what he actually said was "There will be an impact on business one way or the other, some will benefit, some won't." which is slightly different … there will be winners and losers and it is up to business to make sure they are winners
This is a shift from talking about Britain Unleashed, as Johnson talks about. However I do accept that B****t is based on emotion, rather than whether or not it will benefit the British people. So if there is an economic downturn as a result it won't matter to those who just dislike the EU so much that it is worth it.
The effect on the EU will be just as interesting to observe, once any transition period (and accompanying payment from the UK) expires. I imagine the progress of 'ever closer union' will gather even more pace.
Just been reading about the increasing trend for schools to put pupils who are disruptive, or break rules, in isolation booths, where they have to sit doing nothing, facing the wall. Sometimes for days or weeks. In Scotland we used to get punished by the tawse, which is now banned. You held out your hand and received a whack or two or six from the leather strap. You then went back to your desk and got on with your education. All over and done with very quickly. Much better than the isolation booths, which seem to me like something from the dark ages.
Plans to make Big Ben boing for Brexit have been abandoned. Instead Mark Francois will hire a massive PA system and shout BOING at midnight.
Boris, sort it out # 4 Huawei will be rubbing their little red books with glee. They get to install a kill-switch for the UK economy (including the City of London & Canary Wharf of course). Nice one Boris you plank
I'm not into big celebrations, but if my TV supper hasn't sent me into a coma by 11pm I'll have a beer and offer a toast to Boris. He's as mad as a hatter, but I can't help liking him.
I've been out to the shops this morning and purchased the Daily Mail to keep as a souvenir of the great day. I hadn't purchased a newspaper in over 20 years
I hope I'm wrong about B****t, and actually it works out positively for Britain. I'm not sure how its success will be measured in the coming years?
Agreed. Celebrating now reminds me of when Ally McLeod took the Scotland squad to Hampden on a lap of honour BEFORE the 1978 World cup.
There will be no change. The stock market will rise and fall as it always does and the world will keep on turning. It won’t be the new dawn brexiteers are hoping for and won’t be disaster either.
So why the euphoria in some quarters? Empty platitudes aside, surely it will have a clear and positive impact on our daily lives?
