Sorry, I was in no way suggesting that FHB is hard-left or hates this country. Neither am I saying that it's only anti-British radicals who support or admire Khan. I accept a lot of decent people like Khan and believe in what he appears to stand for. But in my opinion he isn't interested in moderate, reasonable folk. He just wants to impress his extremist chums. He's pretty much like Corbyn in that respect.
Khan is a scumbag. He’s a political extremist in all sorts of ways. An utterly divisive man who just panders to his client vote.
I've heard him being interviewed several times on LBC and he comes across very well, takes all sorts of calls from listeners and answers them very positively and knowledgably. He also gets a huge amount of abuse, but I guess that's normal in politics these days.
In fairness, a lot of people think exactly the same things about Donald Trump. However, Donald Trump makes no secret of what kind of person he is. He doesn't pretend to be something he is not. I don't like a lot of the things Trump is doing in the US, but he is an elected Head of State - and a State which is our most crucial ally. Khan ought to be grown up enough to acknowledge that. But as usual our Mayor just plays up to his hard left core supporters. Khan's attitude is an insult to the Office of the President, not the President himself. An insult to all Americans. You can't pick and choose diplomatic obligations just because you don't like the person. The Mayor of London should be a better statesman than that.
Certainly big DT doesn't have to care, he'll be re-elected for sure. I would like him to care a little more about global warming though.
Sadiq Khan, whatever you think of him, is far removed from the far left which has a grip of Labour. Like Andy Burnham, he got out of the Parliamentary party when Corbyn was elected. He visited Orpington CLP and came over as a very moderate decent man. It's fair enough to criticise his record, but his motives are not as you say, he is far to the right of Corbyn, and was very much at odds with him when he took the Mayor's job.
He did before deciding to run for the Presidency. Said there "Was incontrovertible proof" of human activity causing global warming. Now "It's a hoax", and the Americans love it.
