I hear England's World Cup Heroes "should have won" last night against Croatia. Completely agree Royston. Here's a copy of something I posted on ITTV, just for the interest of Charlton fans who might wonder how other results in League One today might affect us; Are we feeling lucky this weekend? Other results in League One today cannot actually lift Charlton above 9th place, as the team above us are a point ahead (not just goal difference). But we could slip down the table depending on the results achieved by four of the five teams in places 10 to 14. This is what each team would have to get in order to overtake us; None of these fixtures look like bankers for the teams just below us. I think perhaps only Fleetwood will get a result required to take 9th place. If Southend win away at Gillingham that will be an impressive result. I know it doesn't make any difference really in the grand scheme of things if Charlton slip down the league table today, as we will have the game in hand of course. Just thought I would post the possible permutations for the interest of anybody who might have been wondering about it.
After Thursday's humiliation by Israel the BBC website has a list of horror shows by Scotland teams, and you can vote for the worst. I voted "other", since the 1978 1-1 draw with Iran wasn't on the list.
It was a nice little firm to work for, the boss was strict but very fair and he cared about his staff. Having to close the business pretty much broke his heart, but cheap Chinese imports eventually starved us of the niche market we operated in. As the manager there I had known what was coming for a while. Having to keep it to myself was difficult, but not as difficult as having to tell everybody when the time came. To be honest I expected at least some to hold it against me and at the time I would not have blamed them, but not a single person did. I've kept in touch with most via the occasional text message, and managed to get a job for one at the company I work for now. So I'm looking forward to seeing some of them again. We're meeting in the afternoon rather than the evening because there are lots of evening celebrations going on in the Asian community at the moment, with Diwali being only a few weeks away.
Are you saying that none of your ex colleagues wish to be seen with you? I find this staggering.... oh no wait...…………………. understandable
Disturbing news in the red tops today. High society bike Jemima Goldsmith now getting her back doors blown off....by Jamie Redknapp Imran Khan....Shane Warne....Jamie.....maybe a well known programme collector will be next ?
Jemima has a soft spot for vain sportsmen doesn't she? Whatever happened to Will Carling - he enjoys a bit of posh totty.
Her next conquest is rumoured to be a posh enamel badge collector with a thirst. What says @baraettmattesvensson ?
Scotland have a habit of occasionally producing a good performance when it doesn't matter, before rejoining the San Marinos and Luxembourgs in the basement of football. Even when we had good players this was roughly the case.
Not only do we not produce top footballers now, but Scottish golfers used to be the backbone of the Ryder Cup team, and they have dried up too.
