At the end of MoTD Linaker asked Danny Murphy what he thought of Mahrez's non appearance at Leicester.... put our Danny on the spot there a bit "I can understand his unhappiness" says our Danny... who forgot about the £100k wages he get's from Leicester!! "it must be difficult for him" you forgot to add that it was all his wife's fault, Danny ....... what a cvnt Murphy is.
Loathsome ex player kunt. And that’s just Lineker. Why don’t the BBC employ Gazza Ffs Did you see the reception Gazza got at Ibrox yesterday ? A genuine bona fide popular decent man of the people who doesn’t have to fake his passion for the game, instead we get a 99% quota of morons or BMEs including Trevor Sinclair and Clinton Morrison
I watched that this morning. After Shearer had said that Mahrez ought to honour his contract it turned to Murphy, and I wondered if he would be hypocritical enough to condemn Mahrez for being a spoilt brat. At least he was honest enough to show his true colours and back Mahrez's stance. A true expert at dummy-spitting.
Horribly over exposed Jermaine Jenas made identical comments about Mahrez on the radio - Riyad would be “devastated” and “shell shocked” this week at seeing his once in a lifetime dream shattered. Leicester had “betrayed” him blah blah blah. They will have Trevor Sinclair on talking about racial equality next week.
Raoul Moat? And (I'm sad to have to say), Gazza's accent. Even if he has defeated the demons of his past and can now share his footballing knowledge and experience, there are a lot of people who genuinely struggle to understand what Gazza is actually saying.
I hear Pep Guardiola only named six substitutes yesterday before his injury ravaged team was battered at Burnley. It's coming to something when a struggling team in the Prem cannot even fill its bench. Humiliating for England's flagship league. Perhaps the EFL teams should have a whip-round for them...
Are you getting used to reading anti-Beeb bile n vitriol on this forum yet? The clue is that it's publicly owned!
You’re never happier than when you’re dishing **** out to someone.....you’re the most complete iconoclast I have ever encountered in all my days......what pleasure do you derive from it.....you seem a hopeless case. Just about anyone and everyone is a target for you. Have you ever asked yourself why you are so aggressive and negative towards so many people....it really is very very odd? That’s a serious question by the way. Love Gazza, as many do, but he’s fried his brains I’m afraid to say and the responsibility of holding down such an important media role on a day to day basis would simply be impossible for him and has been evident for many a year.....very very sad.
* Old Duffer Klaxon Alert * Rather than leap in with another spittle flecked rant, have a look at what I actually said. It was a positive post about Gazza. Have you actually seen him lately? He has turned his life around & a regular punditry job would be an ideal leg up for him. Don’t recovering alcoholics deserve a second chance and the prospect of a decent job in your very black and white world? Maybe it was the incessant boredom and the lack of employment that got Gazza into the drinking rut ? Check out his appearance yesterday and then tell me that guy can’t do a better job than 95% of the drones & sops to the PC industry that BBC Football employs. Garth Crooks .....or Paul Gascoigne ? Alex Smith ....or Gazza ? Clinton Morrison ......or Gazza ?
An obvious notion would be for Gazza to get a job with regional TV or radio. Naturally in the North East they can understand his accent. But I assume he has already tried this in the past?
But why ? Clinton Morrison is barely intelligible, he cannot speak English with any coherence whatsoever, yet MOTD uses him for FA Cup punditry. It is hard to avoid speculating why he gets the gig. Gazza is without a doubt the most popular ex pro in this country because he is authentic. He went a bit far when he delivered a KFC for Raoul Moat, but he is a different man these days. Who on earth wants to listen to that fat bloated bag of wind Garth Crooks in the year 2018 ?
Your point is well taken. I only mention Gazza's accent because I'll confess I have struggled to follow what he has said at times when watching him on TV. Perhaps that was partly due to his state of mind on those individual occasions. If Gazza has got himself together and if he can express himself just a little more clearly, I would certainly be happy to see him doing a punditry job on the telly. On the pitch his skill was unique.
Alan Hansen was The Doyen of pundits. Like Sir Geoffrey in that if you listen to him you'll probably learn something.
Gazza on TV could be amazing. I suppose it’s a desire to see more of the football god that scored THAT goal against Scotland on my 9th birthday. Who was centimetres away from scoring a late winner against Germany in the semis. Maybe broadcasters in general see him as too colourful a character - hence why we get the likes of Carragher and Danny Murphy. He needs to be at the World Cup, even just to liven it up a little. Maybe the Beeb can pass it off as a way of being more regional?
Adebayor was in a class of his own. I could never make out a word, and neither could his fellow pundits. It was just a strange noise. After he finished Lineker would look blank for a few seconds then say "And what do you think Alan?", hoping that Shearer had understood something.
