Phil, I have many tales about Ivor as you can imagine but they have to stay with me. He was my roomie when we took a trip abroad ostensibly to play football. Well, we actually did play two games but I can remember little about them. Can't remember much about anything concerning that particular trip to be honest!! I can say, though, that Ivor was fabulous company. The knowledge he imparted to me about all things football was entertaining, educational and priceless - and always so modest with it. He was a great man on and off the field and I miss him badly to this day.
Yes I'm sure Ivor, my father rated him greatly, and although I watched him play as a 10 year old kid, I just can't remember much regarding the games he was in, it was in 1965, apparently that i was taken along to see him play for Swansea town, Ivor had returned from Cardiff, and played with us until 1968/69 I think, my father loved the title someone gave him, the 'Mozart of footballâ which pretty much summed up his talent, you are obviously my senior Ivor, and I'm sure your memories are good ones, how the game has changed since those modest days!................ please log in to view this image
