The bare minimum for me is to avoid relegation, but it is more than that. I want us to go into April not fearing relegation. Actual position I am not too bothered about. Almost as critical, I do not want to see any team non-performance games that we saw last season. The bare minimum is 100% effort in every game.

Avoid relegation for me. I like very much the signings made to date and the recruitment in the back office and boot room. What we have bought are talented and motivated young players with great potential; they will need time to find their feet and, at times, what you need in tough times is the grizzled old pro rather than a fresh faced kid next you in your team. But l get the strategy the owners are taking.

As some will already know, l am no fan of Ralph and l have reservations regarding his ability, but here's hoping he can, at least, run a steady ship for this youthful team.

So, for me, it's about getting through the season, seeing these fledgling young players finding their feet and watching them play with the exuberance of youth. That would be enough for me.

It’s pretty much the strategy he had with his Leipzig team, and they did bloody well. But yes, absolutely, he needs to pull this together this year.

LTL - I am intrigued to see how these youngsters perform, l think it will be refreshing and l can see alot of opportunity to see them given the additional subs allowed.

No doubt it's a brilliant strategy, if we can make it work!

It's good that less than 5% of fans expect us to finish in the top ten, realistically we are likely to be mid-table or lower but who knows what might happen if everything falls into place. It's exciting at this stage because of the unknowns of so many changes in the playing and coaching staff.

The question didn't ask about expectations. I would like to think none of our fans expect us to finish top half as a minimum!

3 seem to - as the indication is that they would be unhappy with lower than top half. But it arguably isn’t the clearest worded poll

I would settle for winning a few games well, whilst getting repeatedly beat by mediocre sides, always having that nagging doubt that we just might get dragged into a relegation fight but never really being in danger, and at least one of the new signings exceeding all expectations before getting lured away to Liverpool.

    Avoid relegation for me.

Until we sign a striker that we can rely on to be PL quality. I think we are too easy to score against and too weak going forward.

Need stu to stay fit and Aribo looks class, but I still don’t see enough goals in this team yet.

I thought the poll was “hopes for the season” not expectations. Perhaps the thread title should be changed?

I’ve changed my vote, I hope to finish as high as possible. I expect a similar finish, part of the dog fight but not leaving it until the last day of the season to secure safety.

I hope I weigh less at the end of the season than I do at the start.
